World War One / Re: WW1 MM???
« on: Sunday 19 October 14 23:35 BST (UK) »According to a contact through GR, a relative of mine won the MM in WW1. However, i dont know what the MM is/was but im assuming it was a type of medal?? Would that be correct?? What is the significane of the MM? i have to admit that im a novice when it comes the the military aspect of research.
The soldier was Albert HORNSEY (1886 - 1948) Born in Starbeck, died Harrogate Parents Willam (1858 - ?) & Elizabeth (1854 - 1910)
Siblings:
Charles Frederick b: 1889
Agnes Eva b: 1894
Florence Jane 1897 - 1975
All born Starbeck, Yorks & living at Old Beck St. Starbeck in 1901. Albert was employed on the railways acc. to his MC in 1920.
im guessing that Albert & possibly Charles joined up in the Harrogate area, but ive no idea of their regiments etc. So if anyone can help with further info it would be much appreciated.
Kind regards, Sharren
