Cambridgeshire / Re: Susannah Sissey 1823/24 Leverington and Rings End Wisbech

Hi.

Just came across your message.  I am a descendant of Samuel Sissey and Elizabeth Stoote from Wisbech. This branch of the family later moved to Barking in Essex.  Samuel's parents were Samuel (1735) and Sarah?  I think there was also a son William.  I have not investigated the other members of the Sissey Family in Wisbech but it is quite probable that they stayed in Wisbech.  Hopefully this will  give you some new clues.

Lancashire / Ambrose Family Ormskirk and wider Lancashire

I live in New Zealand and  am currently researching this family. Jane Ambrose 1761 is my 4th great grandmother.  I have gone back to Richard 1553-1612 and possibly his father William.  There are so many children with the same names that I am getting very confused and would appreciate any help in sorting them out.  I do not believe that Richard, the Vicar of Ormskirk is a direct ancestor, but your belief that the Ambrose Family here is mostly related suggests to me that he could be a close connection.

All assistance greatly appreciated.

Thank you  amondg.  This could explain why he was no longer working as a policeman in London, but had gone home to Gerrans.

Death Death Certificate for John Hayes Annear.  Would you say the cause of death was Phlebitis?

Thank you  to all who responded to this request.

I will follow up on the marriage for John Hayes now that I have a lead as to where it occurred.

Being in New Zealand  I am not very familiar with the sources for English Newspapers.   Would anyone be able to tell me where I might be able to find a link to the newspaper article mentioned?
I will also investigate getting a copy of the Death Certificate.

I knew there usually some sort of memorial lists for policemen killed in the line of duty and  wondered if such a list existed from Police in Cornwall.  I looked at the one for London Metropolitan Police but he was not listed there.

Cornwall / John Hayes Annear 1822 -1849

Would appreciate help with this. G. G. Uncle, John Hayes Annear  of Gerrans. Known to be a Policeman in London.  Believe he may have been in Cornwall at the time of his death 24 March 1849, two days before the christening of his daughter Elizabeth.  Husband of Ann Hocking.
I have the Baptism, Burial, MI, and photo of headstone for John but would like to know more about this family. 1861 Census shows Elizabeth living with her grandparents at Polendra Farm.

Was John still in the police force at the time of his death.  If so did his death occur in the line of duty.?

Many thanks.

Thank you Christopher.  I am not sure if I contacted at the time. Reviewing my Tobin Family and found your message.

Cannot find records so far for this particular family in Ireland and wondering if they were actually born in South Africa.
