Hi Dave, would this be the family descended from Robert Banner and Margaret Anderson, marriage banns 11/14/1806,St. Cuthbert's Parish,  Margaret's father John Anderson. labourer, Water of Leith? My husband's grandfather William was this couple's son. Think there was a Francis, too.

Just did a check, and found that Gulielmus is Latin for William! :D
 William Kyme is my 6 x G-Grandfather.

Thanks for replies. Sorry I wasn't really clear! I would just like to be able to go further back, to see how he connects to the early Kymes. Not sure how accurate the info I have on him is. Have never heard the name in the birth record. There seems to have been a few William Kymes in much earlier history. Thanks again :)
Am wondering if that is him, only he perhaps used "William".

Thanks for replies.
Yes, her husband was Carl August Friedrich Stumpf, son of master shoemaker Johann Philipp Stump, from Babstadt, Germany. I would love to find more on her family in Germany, and am wondering if perhaps the records were destroyed during the war.( Often his name is spelled with a "K", but his birth record shows it with a "C".)

My G-Grandmother, Maria Haeflich, was born in Starkenburg, Hessen, about 22nd. February, 1836. Her mother's name was Christina, and that is all I know about the family. The area in Starkenburg where she was born was wrongly stated as "Velkam". Probably a recorder in Australia not familiar with the German language.

There is a William Kyme, born about 1684, in Boston, Lincolnshire, in my tree, spouse Sarah; daughter Susanna, spouse Francis Wreeson. I haven't been able to find a connection to other Kymes so far. I would be most grateful for any information or hint, no matter how small. Thankyou.
