Hi Geoff,
I do have Agnes and I think I came to the conclusion that Frances and Fanny were one and the same. From memory there was a discepancy in the registration of the birth that led me to believe it was the same child. I stand to be corrected and I would need to dig out all the paperwork and check it out.
Are you on Ancestry? My tree is there under 'Maltby family tree' . You are welcome to share it and it might help you too. It's by no means complete but you might find somethjng that helps you.
Regards Chris

Thank you Geoff. I actually only just thought about getting back in to the family tree after a couple of years break, so your message is very timely. I remember having trouble trying to trace Henry Ledger so I will have to pick it up again.
Thanks for Anne Groom as a contact I will definitely see it through. Maybe I can be of help to you at some stage. By the way,  I am also a great great grandaughter of Henry from his daughter Alice.
Regards
Chris

Thank you so much for this information.

I recently lost my mother and had lost the motivation for the 'Tree' but maybe this will get me back into it.

Thanks again Alan.

I have a death certificate for my gg/grandfather who died in August 1901 by accidentally falling down stairs.  There was a coroner's inquest and I am trying to find out more about it.

I have been told the records from that time do not exist because Surrey destroyed records after 20 years. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Otherwise are there any suggestions as to what newspapers were around at that time that I might try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Thank you both so much. I'll get cracking straight away.  Henry was a gardener but I'm not sure if he was actually employed by the railways or not.

thanks again

Chris
