Aha, that’s sounds like John Ansell and John Allez could be the same person. Maybe worth looking at the railway records perhaps.

Did your aunts know anymore about Doris?

Hello Jonny

I understand Doris was my grandad's sister, she was born Doris Kathleen Owen in Eastbourne, I'm sorry I don't know much, if anything about her, but she did have three brothers. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. I know they lived in Brighton and that all the info I do have came mainly from this post and the helpful people on here

If she died from 1855 onwards - her parents names and mothers maiden name will be on her death cert

When & where was Marion born?

She was born in either 1849 or 1850 in Glasgow and was the last of Jane's children

I am trying to find out information about my 3rd Great Grandmother.  Her name was Jane (or Jean) Gardner, I believe she was born in Stirlingshire in 1807.  She married John Russell and had a number of children including my 2nd great Grandmother Marion Russell. I am not sure when they married but I believe later they moved to Glasgow as on the 1851 census they lived at 6 Love Loan, if this is the correct family

Any information would be much appreciated please

Just wondering if David could have changed his name if he didn't leave New York?  Would it have been easy in 1855?  His brother James worked Franklin Furnace in New Jersey before he disappeared.
