Regarding the marriage certificate of william and margaret and the birth of their children.  I did see the origional parish records at Carlisle Records office.  The records for Castle Sowerby and Raughton Head are on different Reels.  They are villages next to each other though.  I can go back and get copies of the births  of the children if it helps!

Hello, saw your posting about the Vickers family.  I am tracing the Vickers family of Crosthwaite/KESWICK area.  I have copies of your William Vickers on the census from 1841 in the chance that they may be related to Joseph Vickers and Esther Hodgson who married at Crosthwaite 1833.  Ring any bells?

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Sinclair/St Clair in Carlisle, Cumberland
« on: Tuesday 19 February 08 15:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Checked the Carlisle records, could only find one family of ST CLAIR IN CARLISLE IN 1861.  Elenor St Clair born 1832 Carlisle and Susannah St Clair born 1859 Carlisle.
There was a Dunbar family in Carlisle in 1841, John born 1811, Scotland, Agnes born 1829, Elizabeth born 1834, james born 1836 . All born CARLISLE.
Both familys living in the same Parish.  There was another Dunbar family in 1851 in Carlisle but none of the  names you mentioned.

Checked the earliest Carlisle Directory of 1811 no St Clair or Dunbar or Sinclair.
