The hotel was renamed The Bradley Court hotel in the 1980s and has since been turned into student accommodation.

Hi there daykin.

I have Richard Birch Daykin down as the proprietor in 1885, 1886 and 1887. Edwin Hall was in residence from 1891, but I am unsure of the years in between. I have a few photographs, mainly from the internet but a few personal ones too.

Hi guys

Many thanks for all the useful information, I'm really chuffed at the response I'm getting on this.

The archive newspaper website looks good and I can see two or three articles that would be of interest so will probably go for a 2 day subscription.

As mentioned in my earlier post, I have been to the library a few times and found a fair bit of info. They also have local newspapers on micro film going back the mid 1800's so it's just a case of working my way through them bit by bit I suppose.

Also, I'm hoping to get to the Museum this weekend who I've been told also have some good info I can use.

Thanks again, it's much appreciated!!

Derbyshire / Rutland Arms Hotel - Ilkeston

Hi there

I am doing some research into the now demolished Rutland Arms Hotel that stood at the bottom of Bath Street in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

So far, I have trawled the search engines for information and images. Been in touch with the county records office (which I shall be visiting when it opens again after the current refurbishment) and visited the Ilkeston library and searched the Derbyshire trade directories.  I have the local museum to visit next.

So far, I believe I have the names of the proprietors from 1820 to 1941.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who visited the Rutland Hotel, worked there or can offer any information about the place.  It stood for 180 years and was very grand during the 1800's early 1900's so I'm intrigued by the place.

Thanks in advance.
