Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and reply.

I thought "Teacher" at first, but had to check.

Many thanks for the additional info, Stan.  :)

Have a great day,
Vicky

Hi Rootschatters,

Please can you help with these two professions/occupations - from the 1871 census?

I think the first is "Seamstress", but the second...? Something a 15-year-old girl would do.

Thanks,
Vicky

Hi Jahnnie,

I didn't find a connection to my Barringtons, I don't think, but I'm still interested. You were the one who told me about the kidnap story many years ago, at some other place, if I remember correctly.

I hope you're keeping well!

Hi Keith,

How sad that Senior died so soon after marrying. :(

I need to do some research on the Renards, as I don't think I ever really got started. Let me dig out my old scribbled notes and see what we've got...

Argh, it seems so obvious now! (The first Mancunians in the family...)

Thank you very much for your help. :)

Me again. :)

Any ideas? The family are living in London and, typically, the others on the page are from all over the place, so that doesn't help narrow it down. The first is "Herts, Rickmansworth" and the last, "Surrey, Bermondsey". I'll be damned if I can figure out the one in the middle.

Thanking you in advance,
Vicky

Thank you, both. Thought as much, but wanted to be sure.

Best wishes,

Hi Ken,

Are you still tracing your family tree? I'm just getting back into it.

I discovered today that Ann Millicent Baker, who married Renard Gawkrodger, remarried a William Clark in Southwark in 1876, and noticed that her (youngest?) daughter, Merab Marian Gawkrodger, was one of the witnesses.
