The Common Room / RICHARDSON / BELL - Marriage information
« on: Friday 22 May 15 03:00 BST (UK)  »
Recently received a photo of a headstone, with details of a relative on there I.e. Edward Richardson born 1906 Gateshead, Durham, England. He Married an Irene May Bell, both buried at Ocklynge Cemetary, Old Town nr Eastbourne.  The lady who sent this to me has not been able to find a Marriage for them.  Anyone with information I would love to hear from you.  Parents of Edward are Edward Richardson and Elizabeth Peel.

I am trying to find the parents of Martha Weatherley (sometimes shown as Weatherall) who was born around 1638 in Chollerton, Northumberland.
She married Thomas Hedley sometime around 1658.  Thanks

Thanks for that information.  At the moment only have Dorothy Hedley as yet, no siblings, but several of us working on the family.  I do know there are a lot of Hedley's as I come from Northumberland, trouble is they all used the same names.  Will eventually get there.  Thanks anyway.  Cheers Pat (ex Geordie)

Looking for the parents of Dorothy Hedley born 1758. Have her parents as Thomas and Mary, the only Marriage I can find is for a Thomas Hedley and Mary Davison in 1735 at Simonburn.  Dorothy married James Weatherley.  Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Aberdeenshire / Re: Aberdeenshire Surnames: Bain & Cheyne

Hi, thank you for your reply, amazing how many of our ancestors were either unmarried, or had children out of wedlock, seems like today, it is going back to those times.

I have not seen the Cheyne site, could you possibly send me the link, we may end up connected who knows.  Good luck with your research.  Pat Barnes (nee Boon).

Hi, have just read your email.  I have been doing other reserarch and just got back on my Scottish family.  I have a Doug Cheyne born around 1917 he married an Edith Mitchell they had two sons, one of which I think moved to America.  Not sure if this helps.

Have had no luck in tracing my Ancestor.  Presuming he died between 1849 and 1850.  His last child was born in  August 1849 and in 1850 his wife was listed on the Poor Relief Roll.  John Mennie was a Tailor, he and his wife Margaret Mortimer married at St. Fergus, Banff 17 Aug 1837.  My research has not found anything of his death or buriel.

1841 living at Fett-et-An-Gus, Deer, Banff  working as a tailor.  Without his death details I cannot find his parents to go further back.

Thanks Pat in Oz.  Sorry if this is the wrong board.
