Thank you for the responses.

It does appear to have been the practice at the time in St Agnes not to name children being buried..

Cornwall / Child buried at age 6 but recorded as "Child of" with no given name?
« on: Sunday 31 March 24 22:21 BST (UK)  »
Scenario - All events occur in St Agnes:

Richard Sam(p)son and Mary Thomas are married in 1761.

A son Peter is baptised in 1761 and a daughter Katherin is baptised in Sept 1765.

Peter is buried in 1769. Richard and Mary are both buried in 1770.

A "Child of Richard Sampson" is buried in May 1772. There does not appear to be another Richard Sam(p)son in St Agnes at the time.

If the child buried in 1772 was Katherin, she would have been around 6 years old. How likely is it that a child of 6 would be buried as "Child of" and not have their given name recorded?

I now know Alan died young (19) from a sudden illness and Bruce married twice but had no children.

Hoping this may one day be seen by descendants of James' three sisters Ruby Rebecca Blair, Winifred Elizabeth Blair and Stella May Blair.

I am posting this in the hope it may one day be found by descendants of James McTaggart Blair, born 1889 Port Melbourne.

James was married to Alice Mary Ann Hubbard and had two sons, Alan McTaggart Blair and Bruce Athol Blair (all deceased).

I have an item related to James' WWI service that I would like to pass on to the family.

Have you contacted the daughter "K.D" the informant on the death of Norman Charles Edwards ?

Thank you - approaches have been made to that branch of the family.

He married in Arizona in 1960 and divorced in Texas in 1968 but that wife isn't the one mentioned in obituary nor is she V_ or Edwards. (search FamilySearch for 'Edward Thomas Cannefax'). Have you tried searching there for V_ [whatever first name is] Cannefax?

Yes, he was married and divorced before he married V* in 1970.

Yes, I have tried searching for V* Cannefax, but thank you for the suggestion.

I am bumping this up as I have indirectly been given more information via the family.

I have been told that Pauline Robinson predeceased Norman Charles Edwards who died in 1997 so the Pauline Edwards who dies in 2008 is likely to be someone else.

I have also been told that Norman remarried after Pauline's death so the reference to him being divorced on his death record is possibly in relation to his second wife.

I have also been told that Robert Edwards who was a son of Pauline and Norman died "in the last few months." If possible I would like to find a death notice or obituary for Robert. I did find this death from 2022 but relatives are not named so not certain if he is the right man:

https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/kamloops-bc/robert-edwards-10658500

I did find that Pauline's sister V* remarried as V* Edwards in 1970 to Edward Thomas Cannefax who died in 2012. Edward was married to someone else at the time of his death. I have not found a death for V* and still have not confirmed the name of her first husband.

Any assistance gratefully received.

Leon Graham Arthur is my grandfather, Gwen is my Grnadmother, and Christina Hastings was my aunt. How can I help?

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

I was looking to find how this family connected to mine.

Contact with a family member on another forum has answered that question. I am happy to discuss further through private messaging if you would like.
