This I believe is a photo of my maternal grandmother ADA Atkinson and her younger sister Norah. I cannot pick their age but Ada on the left is the older by 10 years.
I dont know if this was taken in UK before they came to NZ at ages 28 and 18.
The photo size is 10cmx7cm and the corners are rounded.
I think its more a black/white rather than sepia.
Hard to tell in the condition i found it in.
Thankyou for any help.

Hello, Thomas record says he was born in the Parish of St Marys in or near the town of Athlone in the County of Westmeath. He enlisted 10th Aug 1841 and was discharged on 18th November 1862. He served abroad for 6 years in both Corfu (mainly) and then Crimea, his reg # 10379.
No mention of age or family though.

Thanks Heywood, I am making harder work of this than necessary for myself and others, bother. I will get that info from Fold me .
I did look closely at the 1841 census and convinced myself it was 20 with the other son being 25, although i dont yet known anything of him or any siblings other than Ann Weir who was living with Thomas and Maryanne in the early years.
