Hi AM
Thanks for your interesting reply.
Charles Slatter lived with my great grandparents Noah and Sarah Jane Pulling (nee Mantle) at Luton Street, Blaenllechau, Ferndale in 1901.
I've sent you a message.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Cheltenham look up please. WASLEY

The William Wasley who married Mary Ebsworth in 1809 were great x 4 grandparents of mine.
In 1841 William and Mary lived at Gloucester Road, Cheltenham where William was a haulier.
William died in 1844 and cannot, therefore, be the person that Annmarg describes living at High Street Cheltenham in 1851.

Cardiganshire / Llanilar: Mantle Family Burials
« on: Saturday 17 November 07 17:28 GMT (UK)  »

In 1871, John Mantle (born Newchapel, Llandinam in 1838) and his wife Jane (nee Charles, born Llanilar in 1937) lived at Llanilar.

It appears that John Mantle died in a Rhondda mining accident in February 1887 and the 1891 shows Jane Mantle (widow) at Glanllyn, Llanilar.

In 1901, Jane lived with her daughter (Mary Ann Morgans) at Llanilar but by the time of Jane's death on 29 March 1921 (aged 84) she was living at Chalybeate Street, Aberystwyth with her family. Her son in law, Enoch Pugh Morgans, was present at the death.

Would someone with local knowledge or a list of MI's be able to tell me if either John or Jane Mantle has a church headstone, please? I appreciate that John Mantle is likely to have been buried in the Llanilar area but Jane could be in Aberystwyth.

Thank you.

Charles married in 1902, possibly to Perthenia NELMES or Ellen RICHARDSON.

Hi Susan

Thanks very much for your reply. The James Savage you listed is not 'mine', I'm afraid.

It may help for you to know that James' wife was ELIZABETH SAVAGE (c1778-1864). She died at Rodborough.

Can I confirm that the 1841 information you have covers the WHOLE of Gloucestershire, please?

Thanks again.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / 1841 Census - Savage of Rodborough
« on: Monday 02 January 06 22:02 GMT (UK)  »

Would someone be able to locate JAMES SAVAGE (1779-1848) on the 1841 Gloucestershire Census, please?

I know he lived in the County but would like to know if he was born there.

James Savage lived at Little London, Rodborough in 1848 but also may have resided at Randwick, Stonehouse and Stroud.

Thank you.
