My grandfather, William McLoughlin/ McLaughlin, was born in Philadelphia, c1897. His mother, Susan died and his father, also called William McLoughlin, returned to Ireland when young William was around 9 years of age. There was also a brother, Samuel McLoughlin. I am unsure if there were any other children.

Both parents were originally from Ireland. ? Londonderry area.

Can anyone help me trace them? Thank you.

Searching for William McLoughlin, b, c1869, Ireland. He emigrated to US. Sons William, b, c1893, Philadelphia and Samuel, b Philadelphia, year ?.  Not sure if any other siblings.

They all returned to Ireland early 1900's. William jnr was about 9 yrs of age at the time.  Mother, Susan (m/s Brown) b, Ireland, died in US.  believe the children were raised on a farm by their father and a gran/aunt in the Maghera/ Kilrea area.

Dos anyone know if the 1911 census is available for this area and also will there be any record of their return to Ireland from US ?

Looking for info; on Sam McLoughlin /McLaughlin, farmer, Maghera. There was also a brother, William who went to Scotland to live after serving with Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in WW1.

Parents were William McLoughlin and Susan Brown. I know William, jnr, was born in USA and returned to Ireland as a young child to be reared on a farm by an aunt or gran as Susan may have died in US.  Not sure as to where Sam was born.

I believe Sam inherited the farm.
