Is there something wrong with us if we find research titilating?

  Hi,

I'm looking for a trace of the birth of Jesse Howard in Glossop Derbyshire in about 1833, which for some reason seems to be missing from the Free BMD and LDS sites.  I wonder if anyone can help with advice on why it might be missing or indeed may be able to fill in this blank for me.

Jesse Howard is the first child of the family of which Joe Howard is our ancestor.  Joe Howard emigrated to Castlemaine in Victoria Australia and married Rachel Maxwell.  Together they moved from the gold rush in Australia to the one in New Zealand in the late 1860s and despite never having children, left quite a legacy with traces of Joe standing up for the rights of the Chinese gold prospectors and running a large Hotel/gold assaying and stables.
