One Name Studies: N to S / Strangleman Surname Study
« on: Saturday 19 December 20 13:31 GMT (UK)  »
I have been doing my one name study of the STRANGLEMAN surname since 2011 mainly on paper but am now more organised. I am registered with the Surname Society https://surname-society.org/, have a  Facebook group - Strangleman surname study and am also on Twitter as The Strangleman Surname.
It is a worldwide study of what I think is an intriguing surname which is the surname of my 2nd Great Grandmother. It is very prevalent in Norfolk with some families migrating to other parts of the UK. As well as logging individuals BMD details I am also building families to see where they originated. There is no classification for the Surname. I would love to hear from anyone who has this surname in their family tree.

Hi Geoff,
I know that in the Church of England you can be a Godparent to your own child as long as you have another Godparent.
