Hi Amondg

Thank you so so much for all the work you have done for me on this line of my family. Way more than I expected when I posted the excerpt from the will. You have given me a lot of leads to follow and I am hugely grateful for your support.

Take care

Carawa

Thank you so much.

I will have to keep working and see if I can tie in the names Knee and Cottrell.

Wow!

Thank you for your quick replies. The Will is William Bennett's d 1857 Tormarton, Gloucestershire. The probate date is 23 September 1857.

Rutt Or Knee are the two names I had wondered about but I cannot find any marriage for Millicent Bennett to either a Knee or a Rutt and no  births so that didn't help work out which one.

I am so grateful for the help.

Renfrewshire / Lamont family Greenock
« on: Friday 08 May 20 21:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have hit a bit of a brick wall with my Lamont family.

I have James Lamont and Janet McQueenie (married 1 August 1820 at Greenock)  with 3 daughters
1. Jean Young (jane) born 13 November 1821 at Greenock, Baptised 25 November 1821 West or Old Parish. She married Lachlan Duff. I have good detail on this family
2. Margaret born 4 May 1824 at Greenock, baptised 9 May 1824 Greenock
3. Isabella born 16 April 1826, baptised 23 April 1826 Greenock.

I have been unable to find any more details about this family and would be grateful for any ideas/support.

Thanks, stay safe

Wigtownshire / Re: McKINNA/MILHENCH

Hi Lyodia

Thanks for your message re Milhench family.

I have not done any work on this branch of my family for quite a while. I do have 3 Peter's in my tree but cannot at this stage connect them to a Janet.

My Milhench family stems from  Peter Milhench (B abt 1777 Wigtownshire) who married Jane McKenna (b abt 1788 daughter iof William and Jane McKenna). Peter and Jane had 5 children that I have been able to trace so far.

1. William b abt 1806 died January 1830 Mochrum.  Buried Mochrum churchyard

2. Jane b 11 December 1818, died 25 February 1906 Boghouse Cottage. Buried Mochrum. She married William McKie 12 February 1846 Sandberrick Farm. This is my line.

3. Alexander b abt 1821 died 20 March 1952 Brentford, Middlesex

4. Susan b abt 1823 Died 27 July 1845 Glentriploch, Mochrum. Buried Mochrum Churchyard

5. Peter b abt 1828 Mochrum. Died 4 September 1901 Halliwell, Bolton England. Buried  Heaton Cemetery. He married Margaret Bradley. I have good information on this line too.

As you can see there are gaps so your Milhench line may well fit in.

Hi Mckha489

You have done very well to get that far. It's more than I could do but it i very hard to know exactly where Caroline Allen fits in. Unfortunately I don't recognise any of these names so am not quite sure where to go with this family.

I do appreciate all your efforts

Carawa.

Thanks for your reply. I had found Caroline Allen before but have not been able to find her in another census or find a birth record so I do not know where she fits in.
