Hi, Just been browsing Bareham on Roots Chat, as I've gotten into a dead end on William Bareham 1699 and Honor Sawman 1704.

Hopefully after such a log time after your Post, you'll get this message.

I have the children of William/Honor as:
Mary 1728, John 1730, Robert 1733, James 1737m Edward 1737, Sarah 1739 and James (again) 1741.

If you can add or amend children/dates plus and relevant life/family details this would be a real help.

Many thanks

Bernard

Have just found some notes from my Cousins files regarding Bernard above.

It seems he enlisted into the RAF when he was 18 in 1923

His Service Number 355009 ? -

I knew my Uncle way back in 1950's when he stayed with my Parents before going to Australia, but was never aware of his Military connections.

Can anyone fill in with details of his Service records?

He would probably have served his agreed time, or maybe left earlier because he had incurred a serious Motoring accident which left him with an impaired leg
.
Thanks

Bernard

Marriage;
30 Sep 1718, St Andrew the Great, Cambridge
Anne CAIDECOE
Simon HARPER
Anne of Teversham Parish**

Hi, yes this verifies my data. Anne s surname has been spelt many different ways, usually Caldicoe.
Unusually Anne married in Cambridge, as the record shows she and her family wereTeversham, so wonder why she married in Cambridge. Back then Teversham was outside of City .
These twists always add mystery.

Susanna was widowed in 1792. Her husband buried in Cambridge.

I can't see any Harper burials at St Mary the Less in 1792
BT for the whole year here

Oops.  My Cousins note is clearly wrong.  Just spent today researching but no luck.  Reckon that Simon would have been buried in Cambridge and St Mary the Less was the "Church of choice" for most of the family.
Have hit a brickwall.

For some reason FreeREG has the Marriage of  Anderson Wakes and Susannnah Harper and states she is a Widow.

The 1759 Simon Harper burial may be the Father of the Simon in question.

Trish :)

Yes Simon's death 1759 was the father of Simon 1721.

What was Susanna's maiden name? Did her family come from Melbourn?

Hi

Susanna's maiden name was Susanna Bevis (or sometimes Beavis) Her DOB was 1725. Her family lived in Cambridge and the main Church for BMD.s was St Mary the Less

The BT has them as Anderson Wakes and Susannnah Harper
Doesn't give marital status

Cambridgeshire burial index, 5th ed.
1802 susanna harper, 63 MELBOURN.
Margaret.

Thanks,

Yes I've seen this, but the age differnce makes it unlikey. Sussanna was born 1725.

I've run into a problem ref Susanna's place of burial.
In the notes I've taken over from my Cousin he has written Date 1802 and Buried 24 August at St Andrew the Less,Cambridge,
This makes sense for records of their children and her husband who pre deceased her in 1792, all seem to agree this Church was used for christenings and deaths.
However another scribbled note has a question mark with Burial 1802 in Melbourn, Cambs. This is 21 miles away from Cambridge.
I'm inclined to go with St Andrew the Less. Any comments please?
