Many thanks for your email.  I have copies of the death certificate for my great grandmother who died in 1920 aged 47 with no mention of her being a widow.  The valuation rolls for the property they were tenants in states that for 1919 - 1920 she was the tenant and put herself down as a widow.  Two of the children's marriage certificates do not state that great grandfather Wood was deceased but one of the marriage certificates I have copies of does.  The period covered is 1929 - 1935 with one of ones in 1929 showing he has died and the other for that year showing him as still alive and the one in 1935 showing him also showing him as still alive.

My grandfather, his son, and his brother both died in their late seventies.  As for the other I am not sure but they were also in the late seventies or into their eighties,

Thanks for the information on Robert Catto.  It is really William Wood I am interested in.  Any information on him would be helpful.  He was British and I believe, as previously stated, Robert's brother in law.

I give below the details requested.
Wife:    Margaret Ann (Nee Catto), Born17th March 1872.  Married 16/8/1895
Children:  Elizabeth Wood aged 14 years in 1911, William Wood aged 12 in 1911, Alexander Catto Wood aged 9 in 1911, Margaret Hewitt Wood aged 5 in 1911, Elspeth Catto Wood aged 2 in 1911 and Catherine Agnes Wood who was born late April 1911.

My great grandfather's given names were William Wood.  His eldest son, also called William, was my grandfather on my father's side.  He sailed from Liverpool on the SS Cymric April 25th 1911 and arrived in Boston May 5th 1911.  His date of birth was 15th May 1868.

On the passenger lists it states he was going to join a Robert Catto, down as friend but could also have been his brother in law, in Malden, Mass.

Hope this helps!

Having looked for my great grandfather Wood for some time I eventually traced him, thanks to a distant relative, to Boston USA in May 1911.  After that the trail goes cold. Nothing, as far as I can tell, on the 1920 USA Census or on the USA Social Security Registration list.  Any information would be appreciated.
