Thank you for your information Rosie, we have taken a trip to Eastrington already. A beautiful village and church. I would love to get my hands on the original entries! I expect they will be online one day. Once again, thank you.

Thank you so much claire t, glencare and mabel for all your work. I think that maybe I didnt want to believe the workhouse scenario! Maybe it was inevitable after Benjamin died.I dont understand why they would move from Easingwold in Yorkshire(where I am now!)to wiltshire. Most people were moving the other way up north for work to the industrial areas.

Thank you so much for your research. I really dont know which of these theories is correct. If only we had the 1861. I shall write everything down to see which scenario fits best with what we know of their later life. I also wish there was another living Young who is researching. They may know the truth of the matter through oral family history. Once again thank you so much.

Somerset / YOUNG family of Radstock

Hello. I am stuck with a problem with tbe Young family. My g.grandfather was Charles Young born 3rd April 1859 in Radstock, Somerset. He moved north to the Rotherham area. I have his marriage certificate which states his father is Benjamin (deceased).Charles was married on the 10th March 1883 in Radstock. I can find no record of Benjamin or who his wife was. Some researchers have found another Charles who seems to fit but not with the father being Benjamin. My other g.grandparent (Hannah Mary)was from the Milsom family. A well known name in the Somerset Coalfield area. I can trace this line quite a long way back. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for all your good wishes! It really is a friendly site. I must say the site is a bit taxing for beginners but I am hoping to not make too many mistakes. I have good and valuable information and its only been the first day. Thanks again.

Hi. Could anyone help please? I have Isaac Liversidge marrying Mary Wager in Howden in October 1825. This is from IGI index but cannot find any other references. I would ideally like to find out who her parents were. One lead was that she was from Eastrington and born in 1800 but I do not have accesss to local parish records. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. New to rootschat and very interested in family history. Starting with Liversidge family in South Yorkshire but have wandered into Wager  of Howden and Young of Shepton Mallet. Looking forward to the experience.
