No birth certificate just her immigration paperwork that lists her DOB and it also lists her nearest living relative in 1921 as sister Mrs McInery living at 14 Montacue Ct, Westbourne Gdns, Folkestone.

I'm thinking the missing link is possibly a brother to Henry but I can't find any info?

Unless the whole story about her parents death and being raised by an Aunt and Uncle is not true?

Wow..Thank you all so much for the fast response!

I did find most of that information in my search but my frustration still lies in making the connection as Henry Gwynne died years before my Ggrandmother was born!?

Regards,

Family History Beginners Board / Ivy Alberta Gwynne Hardy Folkestone 1894

This is my first post to RootsChat and I am hoping someone can help with my search for information about my great grandmother?

Ivy Alberta Gwynne Hardy was born 08 Dec 1894 in Folkestone, she married Wilfrid Hardy abt 1915 in Elham (he was born Hartlepool 20 Apr 1885), they had one child - Wilfrid John before emigrating to Canada in 1921.

I found two instances of an Ivy Gwynne:

1901 Census - age 5 - daughter of Frances Gwynne
1911 Census - age 15 - sister to Caroline McInery

Family folklore is that she and her sister (name unknown) were orphans as their parents were killed in an accident when they were very young. I can't make a connection to the two records above...other than was she really the niece of Frances, therefore cousin to Caroline?

Any help would be much appreciated!!
