Family History Beginners Board / burntwood hospital st mathews asylum

Hello everyone i have come across a relative Thomas Cook who died in burntwood asylum in 1872 my query is i have seen examples of photos being taken when admitted to an asylum does anyone know whether this was the case at Burntwood   thanks in advance     David

Hello again graham at the risk of stating the obvious i noted you said a whip thong maker was interesting . It is actually the handle part of the whip,that is sort of a platted design.

Hi graham we may have already spoken on genes re united , Sarah Griffiths died in Walsall in 1950. I am afraid I am not aware of what happened to his second wife Mary i can say though that his son Alfred married Sarah s sister Priscilla in 1911, he is actually in 1911 census as living with another of Sarah s sisters and her family. After George left his family with Sarah, it caused a rift within the family, which left George and Sarah estranged . they left for Floore near Daventry and returned a few years later to Rushall and finally the butts area of Walsall where they lived until they died . They were my grand parents.
