South Africa / Johannesburg death certificates
« on: Wednesday 28 December 22 00:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, is it possible to see a death certificate from as recently as 1984? The person concerned died in Johannesburg on 3 May 1984, and I’d like to know his parents’ names if possible.

I had a good search, thanks. Couldn't find a John Adams with a Mary Adams or a Mary Wallace.

Thanks Hallmark. I have searched geni.nidirect for the marriage and the death -no joy. Also Family Search.

The family was not RC.

Yes, Aghadowey, and I've had a good look at the Will Calendars for John. We have a will for Mary Ann's second husband Thomas Sinclair, and their marriage record.

I haven't tried newspapers - I doubt anything would be found but worth a look. It may be the only place I haven't looked!

Thanks to both of you for trying to help. :)

Armagh / John Adams of Lisadian

I've tried without success to find the death record of John Adams, farmer from Lisadian, who would have died between 1851 and 1854.

I also am unable to find his marriage record to Mary Ann Wallace (whose father was John Wallace, farmer) born about 1830 -31. Mary Ann's second marriage as a widow (Mary Ann Adams, father John Wallace from Lisadian) was to Thomas Sinclair in 1854 at Newry Register Office.

I would be very grateful for any help. :)

Thank you so much. Next time I'm down that way I'll look at the ground more closely!  :)

Thank you Minniehaha. I already have that - it helps with the blocks, but not most of the plots. I visited a South Otago cemetery a few years ago, and had an excellent plot map for that. It enabled me to find an unmarked plot covered by foliage. Perhaps that is uncommon...

New Zealand Completed Requests / Christchurch cemetery - Ruru Lawn

Does anyone know how to find the plots at Ruru Lawn cemetery? I have the Block and Plot numbers, but was unable to locate the actual grave site when visiting. Is there a sexton or anyone who can help? It doesn't help that some gravestones have gone or are illegible.
