Thank you guys the information is brilliant.  So interesting to see how they must have been living, and very sad too.

Can anyone tell me where lucy's buildings, St Andrews Holborn, Middlesex were.  Samuel Button lived there in the 1851 census but I do not know the road they were in?  Thanks

Thanks guys.  It looks like Sarah Flowers father was a lot older so not sure if he could be the grandfather although it does say he was the father!

So where was Sarah Flower in 1851?
with infant, or still awaiting his arrival?

Is this her? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGP7-4FC

Was the 1852 spouse local to Somerset? Or living there 1851?

Dainty is also considerable older than Sarah, was he a widower at marriage?

Yes I believe this is her in 1851.

Yes James Dainty actually came from Frome and then when he died she married a Samuel Button also from Frome.

I am trying to find the birth of Henry William Dainty.  He was born abt 1851, mother Sarah Flower born in possibly Frome or Bath or Coombe Martin.  She married a James Dainty on 8 Nov 1852 in Lambeth.  So possibly Henry William is not his son.  Sarah was born abt 1834 and her father is John Flower, according to the marriage register.  Henry William has also been documented as William Henry Dainty.  I think maybe he was not James Dainty's son as I cannot find a baptism or birth index.  I have looked under Flower too but nothing.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes I have looked at Long Alley and nothing.  No sons or mother!  I have tried all her aliases, but to no avail at the moment.

I just need a little more help I am afraid.  I still cannot find where Martha Merle b.1840 (and her children Thomas Edward Pollard and Henry Alfred Pollard) is in the 1871 census.  I have tried surnames Pollard, Harris, Merle but nothing.  Any help with finding this elusive lady and her sons would be greatly appreciated.
