My family find the story amusing.
I don't use ancestry normally - I find their assumptions annoying. I must admit that I have got a reply to each of my messages in the last couple of weeks whether the response was helpful or not.

Hello everyone
Thank you for your responses. I think the threat of haunting sounds very interesting but I have just been informed that I have been resurrected.
I must admit that I wasn't expecting any response so I count that as a bonus.
Very much alive, Jackie

The Lighter Side / An unexpected find!
« on: Monday 21 September 20 22:25 BST (UK)  »
I recently took out a short term ancestry subscription (I only intend to have it for a month or 2) to try to chip away at some of the brick walls in my research.
So, there I was looking at someone's public member tree which included my ggg grandfather - I am trying to find out where he was born, parents etc - and thought I would check that this tree tallied with mine. I got down to my father, mother and then me.
Apparently I died in 1994.
I have since sent a message to the tree's owner asking for resurrection!

Oxfordshire / Land of Nod, Neithrop
« on: Sunday 06 September 20 07:22 BST (UK)  »
In the 1841 Census for William Azlewood b1801, the address listed is
Land of Nod, Banbury. Town Neithrop. Ref H0107/873/3/13/19.
Looking at the actual sheet, Land of Nod is after Parsons Meadow, Bridge Wharf, Mill and before Back Lane.
I did look at google but could only find a place in Yorkshire with that name.
Does anyone have any idea where it is or how it got its name?  I did wonder about a pub but there are no publicans listed.

I had the same email. You can only initiate messages if you hold specific subscriptions.

In the quarterly returns of prisoners in hulks for 1830 it lists his crime as the embezzlement of
5 pounds 10shillings and 9 pence; tried at Newington and was at one stage on the 'Dolphin' moored at Chatham.

The Lighter Side / Spasa Pavlovic
« on: Saturday 08 August 20 04:06 BST (UK)  »
Another unusual name for my tree.
Spasa was the 2nd husband of one of my Hazlewoods. Apparently he was b1915 (where?) and d1984 in Dudley.
Marriage took place in 1953 in Oldbury, Worcestershire.
Is the surname from the old Yugoslavia region? Is there an english equivalent for Spasa?

Australia / Re: Descendants of Harry William Wiltshire 1886-1965
« on: Saturday 20 June 20 03:54 BST (UK)  »
Welcome to this site, Arthur
Harry's first wife was Ida Elizabeth Lucy Sanderson. They married in 1915 in Melbourne, reference 10285.
Ida was born in 1885 in Fulham (Mar qtr 1a 198 I believe) but died in 1918 in  Hawthorn, Victoria ref 1673.
The reason I was trying to find descendants of Harry, apart from being part of my family, is some references made by one of his daughters to my aunt.
I can send a PM with more details if you are interested.
