Hi Janis

Yes, if you have the Penshaw microfilm and could provide birth/baptism info for Barbara Bailey that would be amazing.

Thanks so much.

Maureensman and I are currently sharing info and making connections which is great after all this time

Hi Janis

I've assumed (I know, never assume!) that Barbara Bailey is the correct one, as 2 of the children were given Bailey as middle name.

I have, however, struggled to find the link to their marriage - do you have access to it?

John and Barbara are the furthest I've been able to get back, I keep being distracted by other lines of research, really must get back to those Turnbulls...

All the best

hi Tenorsaxman

I went through the Shotley parish records a week or so ago and noted down all the Kirsops I could find, but still haven't managed to definitively tie in my own names with the names in your line.

Perhaps one day...

I had a quick scout through, and don't think you've already posted the Millburn/Milburn MIs, would be very grateful when you get a second.

Thanks for your great work!

Ian, I was in contact with you approx 2 years ago now, and wondered if any of the Kirsops you have not yet managed to link into your own tree tie into mine yet?

Earliest confirmed ancestor I have is Joseph, born about 1816 in Shotley, Co Durham.  He married Ann and they had children Elizabeth, Isabella, Henry Wood, Mary Ann, and Margaret.

Would be interested in anything you can share.  Thanks and kind regards

Julie

Blimey, all I can say is thanks guys!

Not sure where my brick wall came from, but I am sure you know what it's like, sometimes you just can't see for looking!

Thanks so much for all your help, has given me the impetus to keep going now.

She was my great grandmother, though noone seems to know why she was given the above names!

I know she was daughter of William Turnbull and Elizabeth Appleton, and was born 1888 in Leadgate, Co Durham, died 1954.

I have nothing else on the Turnbull line prior to William, so am intrigued where her various names seem to have come from, as they seem to be surnames rather than obvious christian names.

Interested in anything anyone can offer, am doing quite well with other lines of research, but this Turnbull line proving to be my brick wall.

Thanks Bernard

Can't see any immediate link, but will be in touch if anything falls into place.

Have had a frustrating last month or 6 weeks, seem to be going round in circles on my research, so keen to have a good run at it and will let you know if I come across anything likely to interest you.

Kind regards

Julie
