Attached photo is of my maternal GtGrandfather (born 1835) and my Aunt Ellen (born 1873) who lived in Hoxton ST Lukes parish. Could someone be kind enough to enhance the photo for me.
Kind Regards

World War One / Re: WW1 Regiment Query

Hi Frank
I am not sure - my elder sister thought it might be our Gt Uncle Daniel Finnerty, but I now have his army papers and he joined the Sussex Regiment as a boy soldier in 1896 then transferred to the Scottish regiment - The Cameronians- in 1900 where his elder brother was also enlisted. Given all of this it cannot be him.

Thanks for your help

Thanks to all who have replied so far - I did think it was RA at first but wasn't so sure when I compared it to my dads RA cap badge from WWII as it looked to be more of a shield as well......

Hi Shaun,
I think you could be right on this one, which is a little frustrating as I have the RA cap badge as my father was in the regiment in WWII !!! I thought the triangle was perhaps a harp so was concentrating on trying to find a badge with harp that looked familiar.
Thanks for your quick reply and happy New Year

Hi, Can anyone help in identifying the regiment that the soldier in the photo is from - I believe that this was taken before or during The Great War (WWI).
I have searched through countless cap badges on line to see if I could find a match but so far have had no luck.
Thanks in advance

The attached is a the only photo we know of in existence of my Gt Aunt Margaret (born 1870). I think this was a photocopy of the original and lacks a certain amount of clarity as you can see.
Can anyone help to enhance this for me.

Thanks in advance

Glyn
