London and Middlesex / Dolly Shearing
« on: Tuesday 13 September 16 18:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

Trying to trace the above person, she was born in 1905 in London. she had several siblings who died during the war, the only remaining sibling being Margaret Shearing. I know she would be deceased by now but cannot seem to find a death certificate. I have been told that she moved to the coast but that is all the information we have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Samantha x

Hi Davy!,  my grandmother was Irene Allum, her father was William or Bill as everyone called him. He actually outlived my grandmother and survived into his 90's. He was in the 8th army under monty as far as the family knows.  I have a few photos if you would like go send me an inbox message with your email I can send them over.

I unfortunately met him only once at my grandmothers funeral (his Daughter) I was only 8 and he passed away the year later, so I have only a vague recollection of him. A cousin said she will dig out a photo of him in his uniform...

Would I need an army number to request the info... again no clue!

Many thanks MyLuck!

Great information

I thought that last night after posting, The issue we have is that my Grandmother's mother (Bernadette) died when she was quite young. My Grandmother passed away in 2012 and was one of the eldest siblings, so I have no information of the family itself. I am hoping to find a distant cousin or someone with the same family tree that could shed some information on the family as a whole and past generations. rather than themselves (the living).

I have plenty of family in Ireland so will get one of them down to the GRO for the certs. Unless you can order online, I have only visited the center in Dublin so will check out the website.

thanks again.

Hi Everyone.

I am trying to trace possible distant cousins (or first cousins of my Grandmother)

My Grandmother's Mother was a Bernadette Sweetman Born 1909 in Dublin North. Her Parents were John Sweetman and Rosanna Giles. Their other children (Bernadette's siblings) were Nora(1903), , Rosanna (1902), Thomas (1897), John (1895), Mary (1893)  this is them in the 1911 census Conollys Cottages http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/North_Dock/Connolly_s_Cottages/21779/

I am looking for any possible relations.

Norah/Hanorah/Hanoria seems to be a common name within my Sweetman side.

Thanks!

Sam
