Kincardineshire / Re: Ann Duncan(b. 1809) and William Mackie(b. 1806).

Thanks DavidGO2 & Ev, Duthie is certainly a family name as Duncan Duthie Mackie b1849 had a son and he was also named Duncan Duthie b.1873. From what we know Duthie was William's G/Mother's maiden name. The name Nigg appears on some paperwork that we do have, so it looks as if this could be the birthplace of Duncan Snr. Is Nigg near Aberdeen. Many thanks to you both for the help.

I need to find the parents of Ann Duncan, born 1809 in Kincardineshire, Scotland and married a William Mackie 1806-1870, they had a son Duncan Duthie Mackie  in 1849. Any information will help.

Also need to find the parents of William Mackie 1806-1870, I think he was born in Aberdeen, he married a Ann Duncan 1809- 1882 and had at least one son Duncan Duthie Mackie in 1849. Any info on family and parents would be great.
Thanks Robert

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Timothy Benton

Hi LizziL,
Timothy Benton was born on the 22-2-1801, date was on death cert as well as marriage cert. He married three times, 1. Mary Feast 1797-1878, 2. Alexandra Feast, 3. Mary Keach. I didn't know about his son William, as we only knew of daughters Frances ( Standen) Eliza (Brown) & son Thomas. We did get his birth place from the death cert, so that may not be correct. Many thanks for your help.

Hi Keyboard86, I have the birth details of Edward and it shows Basford as Williams place of birth also, but nothing else. Also Sarah Greasley (Leighton) her details are shown as being born in Basford, so apart from that we don't have any other information, only family names of his grandsons and granddaughters. Thanks Robert.

All the info that I have is that William's sister married a Gervas Greasley on  the 29th October 1798.
I can't find any registration of a birth for William, but since his son was born in 1801, I would think that he may be born around 1775 + - a few years. I've been through various files and sites without much luck. On the marriage details they spell Leighton as Lighton. Thanks

I think that John Sinclair and Sarah McMasters did have 11 great grandchildren as I have found 9 so far. I am amazed at how much info and help is coming forward, many thanks to all.
