A wildcard, death

Another one, without a "c" in the surname
June 1957 Portsmouth 6b 376
Jaques, John Henry
Age 67

Not sure who it might be, but it is certainly not the Co-op man in the Portsmouth newspapers!

ADDED.
Instant digital image available from the GRO for only £2.50, if you fancy taking a punt!

Hi there
The infamous Alfred Cullmer sounds interesting! Certainly Mary was having a rough time later, with those workhouse admissions. Though the 4 March 1868 discharge from the Holborn workhouse says that Mary was taken out by Husband. Children Rosina and Alfred were with her.
I do think you have found the right Mary, her father's details on her marriage tally.

I believe it says Williams as father's name on those Hale Brighton baptisms in 1838. Which is curious, as it is said to be Sarah/Susan's maiden name. But I can't find any BTs of baptisms in Brighton for 1838 for comparison.
As a family, even with William as father, there is not really any further sign.

What we do know is that Susan and the children ended up later in the City of London. But were they there with Joseph as early as 1843?

The Bicester Herald has reports of childrens activities at Bicester Parish Church, i.e. Sunday School, Bible Class.
Edith Baker is in a few of these.

including Girls VII - Edith Baker, Mabel Smith, Nellie Pinchin

A report, 1 August 1913, on the funeral of Mrs. Mary Ann Baker, widow of Henry Baker. Age 89.
The mourners included Mrs. Edward Baker (daughter in law) and Mrs. J. Smith (granddaughter)
Flowers sent by children (and possibly others), including "Edie". Who may or may not be Edith Baker? :-\

There is a Mary Hooper buried in Wolverhampton, 25 August 1835.
But her age is 1.

Likely she was the daughter of John (miner/labourer) and Hannah.
Children in Wolverhampton, John, 1828-1829, Elizabeth, 1829-1831, Elizabeth, 1832-?, Mary 1834-1835

Who were they?
And what happened to Francis's Mary, wife of John?

Abode on the burial of Elizabeth Hooper in Tipton in 1825 was New Row, which may not be particularly helpful.
