London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Dodimead
« on: Saturday 15 July 17 11:23 BST (UK)  »
I know it has been quite a few years since this post first appeared but though it worth commenting on anyway.  Doddimeade / Doddemeade is indeed a unique name and I came across it recently whilst searching the 1939 Register.  I have been trying to fill in he missing pieces of my tree on my maternal grandfather's side.  One of his siblings was Edwin Brooks and it appears that he married Dorothy M Suckling.  I found births for 2 children, one being Dorothy M Brooks.  This is where the 1939 comes into it.  I found Edwin and his wife Dorothy but also in the same house I find Harold L Doddimead / Doddemead and his wife Dorothy M Doddimeade / Doddemead who was born in the same year as Dorothy M Brooks so am thinking that I could be on the right track in that regard.  Is there any connection there with your family?

US Lookup Requests / Re: Burial Place - Robert Lennox, Los Angeles

Thanks for your tips and yes, it seems that an informational copy of the death certificate could be the way to go.

It's always possible that he is not the same person as the one born in Ontario, Canada, but I suspect they are one and the same.

US Lookup Requests / Burial Place - Robert Lennox, Los Angeles
« on: Friday 03 January 14 18:29 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a burial place for Robert Lennox who died 25 August 1969, at Walnut Creek, Los Angeles.

The exact date of birth on his death record matches the one I have been researching and his mother's surname, Cummings, also matches.  I am now trying to locate any records that I can find to confirm the data I already have and to find whether or not he had any family.

Along with his son I have been working on this family tree off/on for decades.  Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

Wales / Old Photos Found on a Train
« on: Thursday 03 October 13 22:38 BST (UK)  »
A couple of photos were handed to me on a train.  The back of one of them had a message addressed to "Dear Madame" from someone in Ebbw Vale regarding the cost of reprints.

The image is only a quick snap of the original with the mobile phone.  Quality is awful but hey ho.

Trish seems to have the right imformation.

I might have missed this earlier, but I know someone called Trish that is very connected to the Kennard family.  I am trying to help NZ friends with their tree which includes Kennard from Devonshire I am looking at re-establishing contact with the lady concerned even if only to exclude any connection with the 2 families.

Currently I can take my friend's connection back to Robert Avery/Avory Kennard, baptised at Loddiswell, Devon and it would appear that he is the son of Robert and Mary Kennard.

Is there a chance that on the 1891 census this is your William James Wilson?

William James Wilson, aged 30, born c1861, Kirkby Ireleth, Lancashire, England.  Son of William, occupation Slate Quarrier and Elizabeth Wilson?

I am guessing that stone mason / slate quarrier might loosely be connected.

Thank you all for your help on this, it really is appreciated.

I went to Papers Past in NZ and found a lot of detail including unexpected snippets regarding my Dad and his siblings so have squirreled them away as well.

I am not sure how I missed this thread.  I might be able to help as I know the son of RJC Lennox and his family quite well, in fact, was talking to him tonight.
