Berkshire / Re: Thomas Hazell and Martha Hall - children
« on: Wednesday 05 January 22 08:46 GMT (UK)  »
To tie up some loose ends I still need the deaths for the children not mentioned in Thomas’s Will. They are Ann born 1690, Jeane born 1697 and the unnamed son 1702.  I am guessing that Ann (Thomas’s wife) died in childbirth or about the time of the birth of the unnamed son and I’m guessing this son died also.  What do others think?
Many Thanks
Jen

To be honest I don’t know how my cousin came to this conclusion. On looking back at his notes it has born before 1686 so you could be onto something especially as you have found Martha’s birth. I couldn’t find it. So thank you for that. I will look more at this tomorrow.
Thanks so much for your help.

Could Thomas have been married before his marriage to Martha? So we would be looking for children before 1705 to Thomas and X.
Highly unlikely as he was born about 1686 from research a cousin did many years ago.

Berkshire / Thomas Hazell and Martha Hall - children
« on: Sunday 02 January 22 07:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me locate the baptisms for the children of Thomas and Martha Hazell. Sometimes spelt Hazle.
Thomas was born abt 1686, he married Martha Hall 24 sept 1705 in Somerset Keynes, Wiltshire. He was from out of area (Berkshire and a Yeoman) He died Dec 1742 in Little Cox well, Berkshire and is buried there, his wife Martha had died in 1739.
I have the record of his will where he states his childrens names. Two of them I have details for, Susanna bap 25 Aug 1706 in Berkshire, (she married Richard Lewis in 1732) and William bap 10 Dec 1708 in Berkshire (St Mary’s). He married Martha Potter in 1743.
This info came from research done by a cousin many years ago, where he visited various parishes and record places. Sadly since then he hasn’t been able to do anymore research as he shifted to Spain from the UK
Since then I have found the will for Thomas and the other children named are John, Thomas and Alice. It is these 3 that I am finding it hard to find records for.
I am in NZ so finding records online is a bit of a challenge.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone may have the knowledge I need to sort this family.

Hi
No, I seem to have mislaid them :-[
They must have come from a (rare) visit to the SoG. If I can find them, I will post.
John

Thanks so much for looking.  Maybe one day they will surface.
Jen.

Update. Slight glitch at the moment, I can't find them! Watch this space, hopefully I will be able to.
John

Just wondering if you have had any luck with finding the records?
