Occupation Interests / Teacher Registration, England, Lookup

I am looking for the Teacher registration details of George Chapman.  In 1901 he was an assistant school master in Hove, Sussex and by 1939 he was a retired school master.  He also may or may not have attended Cambridge as a student both as an undergraduate and for a MA.

Any possible matches would be a help

Thanks in advance

There are actually three stripes on the wrist of Hobbs, James Henry (see close up) and there seems to be a ribbon on this left shoulder does this signify anything that you know of? Is it a South African or British uniform?

In the next picture Hobbs, James Henry is in a different uniform, no stripes on his left wrist and there are some letter/number on his shoulder.  Does the close-up give any information?

Here are the details for Hobbs Saunders.

Do you know if the records whose references are listed on the cards exist in any form?

Thank you for your input so far.  I have some more info about Hobbs, James Henry that might shed some light on the medal cards.

He was born in approx 1889 probably in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. (location of his father on his wedding certificate)

He married my G Grandmother, Eveline Agnes Pile in 03 July 1917 only to be divorced from her on 20 December 1919 on the grounds of cruelty and adultery.

He was demobilised in February 1919 and went on to re-enlist with the 18th Hussars.

Here is a press clipping of the divorce announcement and a picture of the ‘happy’ couple on their wedding day.

Is it possible that at some point he lied about his name and was this Hobbs, Saunders.  I only say this as both men have the same regiment numbers?

I am looking for someone to help me interpret the following World War One Medal Record Card from the National Achieves.

From what I understand the details are as follows:-

Name: Hobbs, James Henry
Corps: 2nd Battalion of South African Infantry, 6th Dragoon Guards
Rank: Private
Regiment No: 4264 387215 (What do the two sets of number refer to?)

What I don’t understand is the meaning of the remarks
Medals forfeited
Star + Medals approved (unreadable)
Claims to be forwarded to (unreadable)
Should application be received

Does anyone know what these comments mean or why medals would be forfeited?

Hi Pam,

Thank you for the information above.

Can you tell me where the sons were born or was this missed?

Thanks again for taking the time to look this up.

Regards

Chris

Thanks for that Al, but I don't think that is the right family.
