Hi Carol. Thanks for your quick response. Belbroughton was the place of marriage not the place of birth.

Worcestershire / death date Hannah Gill born 1772 nee Baker

I am trying to ascertain the death date and place of Hannah Gill nee Baker born 1772. On 30th Apr 1792 at Belbroughton, Worcestershire Hannah is married to Thomas Gill. They have 7 children. in 1841 census they live at Round Oak, Brierley Hill ,Staffordshire. .Thomas is a collier. He dies in 1845. In 1851 census Hannah is shown as a widow annuitant living in Wall Heath, Kingswinford, Staffordshire. with her daughter Hannah 53yrs who is married to William Meredith 53 yrs a land agent. Hannah's age is transcribed as 70yrs but appears to be 78 on the original census. I can find no further record of Hannah on census or burial records. Can anyone assist with any further information as to her death,

I am trying to establish the age of the John Gill whose will is written in 1597 of Belbroughton. I have traced my maternal line the Gill family to John Gill who married Mary Eccleshall in Oldswinford in 1610.I believe this John to be born 1579 in Belbroughton to William Gyll and Margery Waldron. The will mentions a father William and brother Anthony which would make this John the son of William Gyll and Margerie Wheeler. Does anybody have any additional information which would ascertain if the John born 1579 was  the one in the will 1597. The only baptism records for a John Gill is 1579 Belbroughton.

Please excuse my tardiness for replying. At the moment I am keeping an open mind but in the 1901 census Ann Maria Gill puts her place of birth as Handsworth which would suggest more towards West Brom. The only other clue I can think off is that subsequent Gills were strong Baptists in the Sedgley Coseley area and I am trying to narrow down which chapels and the locations of their records

The 1871 census is the right Ann Maria,in 1881,1891 and 1901 they are in Victoria Street,Sedgley.I can recall my mother once telling me that the grandparents of her father had towards the end of their lives tried to get a copy marriage certificate and although they had been able to give the church date and vicar presiding no record had been found and it was presumed the register had not been completed or an admin error.Sadly my mother passed away many years ago and I know no further details

I am interested in tracing the date and place of death of Hannah gill who was born about 1771/2.Hannah was the wife of Thomas Gill and in 1841 they are both shown as residing at Chapel Street,Round oak,Brierly hill.Thomas is buried on the 28th Sep 1845 at St Michaels Brierly hill.To date I have been unable to trace the passing of Hannah and there is no mention in further census. She is not mentioned on the death certificate of Thomas. Is anybody aware of the date of her death and place of burial

I am interested in tracing an Ann maria whitehouse. My great grandfather was an Abraham Gill born 20th July 1876 in Sedgley Staffordshire. His birth certificate shows that his mother was Ann Maria Gill formerly Whitehouse. His father is Thomas Gill born 1st Jan 1839.I have searched the marriage index but cannot find any trace of the marriage. In the 1911 census Ann is shown as a widow and had been married 45 yrs so wedding circa 1865 and birth 1842/1843 in Handsworth. Is anybody aware of Ann's family details or the details of the wedding

Hi STG. Many thanks for the reply.I think the second one is the more likely if Thomas remarried. He and Mary have four children Daniel 1705,Thomas 1706,Sarah 1709 and James 1710 all baptised Kingswinford. So i presume the marriage to Mary is pre 1705.I cannot find any record from the usual transcript sites so i am presuming it is a parish whose register has not been transcribed yet.
