Sorry you’re feeling out of sorts RTL … grandchildren of all ages can be unpredictable and have meltdowns at the drop of a hat!
My eldest (10yrs) is a very sensitive boy and when my OH swatted a wasp when we were outside to stop it having an opportunity to sting him he burst into tears… we all looked aghast at him but his theory was it’s a living creature… well true but not one we want hanging around! As for any sort of games he’s very competitive and used to throw a wobbler if he lost.. better now thankfully.
I’m sure as others have said yours will grow out of it but he does have extenuating circumstances at the moment. The game you bought sounds a nightmare.. what was it called and I’ll make sure not to but it 😂😂.

Take care and hope all things improve for you and your family… and for everyone else who’s dealing with health issues.

Hope everyone has had an enjoyable day… despite the continuous rain and dull skies in our neck of the woods!

As my daughter said in her card we had our Mother’s Day on Friday.. I went to stay with them from Thursday to Saturday. I visited my cousin on Thursday for lunch and then my daughter and I went to the V & A on Friday to see the Chanel exhibition… it was wonderful the garments were exquisite , the workmanship beautiful and designs, materials all delightful. My Mum used to wear the Chanel styled suits back in the day. It was a delightful day to spend with her and have some quality time together.

Today is her day with her boys .. football matches in the rain this morning 😩😩 and then out for lunch.

Wishing everyone the best for next week

RTL - so very pleased to hear news of your grandson although still a way to go but uplifting to be able to see him in person. They are such a delight these grandchildren and definitely lift ones spirits. Good news too that you’ve had you much awaited weeks break and hope you feel refreshed to co to us on with your scheldules!

BB - good to hear your eye op has been successful, it’s certainly good to get the shield off in the morning. You’ll find its wonderful how much better you can see so quickly after the op! Hope all your other treatments go well too.

Viktoria- it’s a good job you’re on the ball re all your medical situations, they don’t seem to be getting to grips with electronic details! Good old paper copies! I’m sure your friend will really welcome the plant you’re sending her.

LM - going onto BP medication has to be good… I’ve just done a 7 day bo monitoring and looks like I’ll have to be going on it too 😢 don’t take any meds for anything so I’m a nap it disappointed that I will have to.

Roobarb- well done for mowing your lawn our is still  soggy and squelchy… our neighbour did his and then we had a frost and now it’s looking dreadful!

Hope everyone who’s not feeling great soon will feel better, hopefully a bit of warm sunshine would buck us all up!

Dull and gloomy here today too… just waiting for the rain later and hope the washings going to dry but not much wind and defo no sun!

Hope you have a lovely time with FH and Kyra tomorrow Viktoria, seeing younger members of the family always brightens your life, you’re very lucky to be a gt grandma. Hope you’ve found the paperwork you were looking for too 🤞.

We have friends for dinner tonight so I’m doing slow cooked shoulder of lamb, a Mary B recipe that I’ve done before, it’s delicious and I like just being able to let it do its thing! Brixworth pate to start and a citron tart for dessert… I’m not the best at pastry but usually sweet variety is ok.

Well must crack on as plenty to do.

Have a good w/end everyone and I’m sure RTL is counting the days until her week off.

I too have nights when I spend more time awake than asleep… I read too sometimes it works others not so much.

I am the snorer despite loosing weight it made no difference! We’ve had separate rooms for a number of years so we both get a better nights sleep… holidays always difficult for my OH… I’ve tried everything and nothing works.
Going on holiday for 2 weeks in April… don’t think he’s looking fwd to the nights and I can’t blame him!

Weather here today is grey miserable and wet unlike yesterday which was sunny and a good washing day.

What lovely reminisces of days gone by!
Flanders’s & Swan were favourites of my dear father and he used to regale them to me … very poignant and quite eary… as today my father passed away 50 yrs ago.. and with all those little ditties it’s like he’s communicating with me, so thankyou Viktoria and Jeff … it’s brought a tear to my eyes. 😢

She was definitely not beheaded!
She spent her days at Kimbolton Castle, as was, it’s now a public school just down the road from me… my daughter got married there!

And my great grandfather was head gardener there, when the Duke of Manchester owned it.

Small world arthurk!
She had her wedding ceremony in the inner courtyard, it was a magnificent day in a place steeped in history. We were so pleased she chose it as her venue.
The firework display provided by Kimboltons Rev Lancasters people was a fitting way to end the day. My son-in-law comes from Lewes in Sussex so they know all about fireworks and we had some great compliments from friends from there.

It’s such a great pity that such a great lady should have to end her days there and for such a short time. The surrounding area does suffer from flooding when it rains heavily so it’s not surprising that she suffered from the damp.

It’s one of my favourite eras of history so thank you Viktoria for the further history lesson. I’m sure the pageant must have been quite a sight.
Again my daughter spent a year in Belgium as part of her university bio- chemistry degree course in a town called Turnhout up near the Dutch border. A pretty place that we visited often whilst she was there.

Have a good w/e all, sun is actually shining here today!
