thank you for the reply.
yes Avrils eldest brother carried out search some years ago and visited the churches etc.
Williams parents were given as William Jones born 1801 in Oswestry and he married Sarah Grafton b 1796 in Oswestry he mentions Sarah having a smallholding possibly in Maesbury and William going there after the marriage.they married in 1824.
but all he has of Elizabeth is that she was from Llanrhaidr and that is confirmed in the census records. wonder if Elizabeth was born a little earlier. dont worry if you cant find it. i never have. thanks.brian

sorry. me again.
not sure if that is the right marriage for william and elizabeth
this census is correct because of the known twins
1841 oswestry.shropshire.
william jones aged 40
sarah jones aged aged 55. that would be nee grafton
william aged 14 who married elizabeth
edward 12
susannah 10
emma 10

just thought i should add.
the parents of william b 1827 in oswestry who married elizabeth from llanrhaidr
was william jones 1801 oswestry and sarah grafton b 1786 in oswestry they married in 1824 oswestry.
william siblings included twins emma and susannah both b 1831 oswestry. i realise this doesnt help with elizabeth though.

sorry both for any confusion i have caused.
firstly the only evidence i have found for elizabeth is the census with henry on that 1841 census.
i do not have a marriage for william and elizabeth. and some of the census records i have are with ancestry. and i am not subscribed,so cant access them.

so my known facts i have.
Avrils grandad Albert was born in 1890 in Gwersyllt, son of John Jones b 1860 in Oswestry and Elizabeth b 1863 in Denbighshire.
in the 1871 census John above event place trefarclawdd shropshire. head is william jones aged 42 birthplace oswestry and wife elizabeth aged 33 denbighshire.

in the 1861 census john is aged 1. and the head is william jones aged 34 and wife Elizabeth aged 26 Llanrhaiadr.

all these are known as family facts. sorry for any mixup. thank you.brian
