United States of America / Re: William C MacDonald

hi since I posted this I've found that William died in 1968 in Delaware county (a photo of his grave is on the Findagrave site)and I found his obituary in the brilliant Delaware Libraries online archive of old "Delware County Times". A member of ancestrys message board very kindly phoned the funeral Home for me and I managed to track down the family of the lady who organised the funeral. A couple of days ago I got an email in reply to a letter I'd written to the ladies daughter and she is going to tell me what she remembers of my Great Uncle.

Hi I had the same trouble as you with birthdate on the actual card at Southampton of my great grandfather.
His year of birth  on the card was 1894 but he too was born in 1874 even the actual day of birth was wrong but I knew it was him as it listed his home address and wifes name which matched the 1911 census.
Plus his photo is definately of a man aged around 46 rather than 26!!!

My Grandads brother William C  Macdonald went to America in 1927.
My grandad is "said" never to have heard from him again.
