Yorkshire (North Riding) / Re: Blenkirons of Marrick

Hi,
I think I've got back to Thomas Blenkarne b. abt 1569 who married Bettris Wilkinson on June 12 1594 in Patrington, Yorkshire and died in 1618, buried 22 Mar.
His son, Thomas, was born in 1602, baptised 15 Apr in Patrington and died (or was buried) 12 Jul 1687.
His son, Thomas, was born abt 1630, also in Patrington and married Elizabeth Estrape (not sure if this surname is a transcription error as this family is nowhere else to be found) on Jun 28 1658. I have the same date for his death as his father, so one of these is incorrect.
His son is Bartram, born abt 1668 and married to Elizabeth (unsure of maiden name) abt 1686 and father of Bartholomew.
Where does your line go from there? Mine runs as follows:

Bartholomew 1735
Bartholomew 1766
Bartholomew 1795
Thomas 1828 at which point we leave Swaledale for the Midlands, specifically Warwickshire.
Duncan 1865
Bernard 1898 back in Yorkshire, albeit briefly
Daphne 1932, born in India, and my mother.

Where do our lines part?
You can find me on Ancestry unter XantheHall.
Best,

Xanthe

Yorkshire (North Riding) / Isabel Simpson, wife of Thomas Close of Melbecks
« on: Sunday 10 February 19 17:07 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for any information on the parents of Isabel Simpson, who married Thomas Close on Apr 30 1717 in Grinton. She was born about 1696 but there seems to be a gap in the parish records from May 1693 and July 1696, so I can't find her exact birth or parentage. Can anyone help here?
Thanks,
Xanthe

Dear Dan,
I have been away from my research for a while, other things in life taking a front seat. But I'm just revisiting the messages on RootsChat and would be very interested both in your spreadsheet, as well as connecting trees on Ancestry. I was unable to find a tree under the name schilver, perhaps because I've let my membership lapse. But my tree is the "Hall family tree" and my member name is XantheHall. My mother was Daphne Blenkiron (1932-1997) and I've traced her family back to Marrick.
I would be very glad to hear from you.
Best,
Xanthe

I also have Sarah Bwye on my tree, born 1778 in Olveston, baptised 5th Apr 1778, daughter of John Bwye (my 4th great grandfather, 1751-1834) and Elizabeth Moreton (1756-1783); married John Griffiths 7 May 1804 in Henbury. I've got stuck in the Bwye line at her grandfather William (b. 1725 in Alveston) and can't get any further back. Any help?
Best wishes,
Xanthe

Phil, many thanks for looking. Whose grave is that? I couldn't read the inscription. Did you just find the one?
Best,
Xanthe

Thank you for replying. There are many Rueggs in the cemetery but none are in my direct line and I cannot afford to pay for information on all of my relatives. I have written to the cemetery but I am pretty sure they will refer me back to deceasedonline.com. I don't want to send anyone on a wild goose chase, it was more in the line of asking people who regularly visit the cemetery to let me know if they happen to see any gravestones of the following members of my family:

RUEGG Edith Rose 1968
RUEGG Edward William 1864
RUEGG Helen Maud 1871
RUEGG John Henry Ulrich 1883
RUEGG William 1914

And if they can't photograph the headstones, then I would still be grateful if I could know if there are any gravestones. If there are then I would visit the cemetery next time I am in the UK.

Another question: On deceasedonline.com in the advanced search one can enter "gravestone collections". If this search comes back with no results, does this in fact mean that there is no gravestone? If so, then there is really no point in looking, as there were no results.

Many thanks for your help,

Xanthe

Hallo,
According to deceasedonline.com, many of the Ruegg family are buried in Greenwich cemetery. I'm looking for anyone who visits that cemetery and can tell me if they have seen any gravestones with the name Ruegg on them. If so, I would love a photo.
Many thanks,

Xanthe
