Hi Tammy
I don't know if I replied to your post or not.  So sorry for being rude.  Moved house in the previous 12 months and Family History got put way, way back on the back burner.  If you're still interested in Bartholomew please let me know.

The Common Room / Re: Death of RootsChatter: 'Christopher'

Oh dear, how sad.  I never met him but feel I know him through his invaluable help with Irish ancestry. Sleep well Christopher in the knowledge that you did more than your share to further this funny old hobby of ours, Family History.  Will raise a glass or two to you next St Pat's day and the first chance I get to have a Guinness when I finally get to visit Ireland will be a salute to you.

So thanks to rootschat  :-* I've found another cousin, he in Scotland, me in Oz but related anyway.

We have an Amelia TOMLINSON who married George GOODWIN in Manchester Cathederal 25 May 1846 in my husbands tree.  Have a copy of the marriage cert but not much else.  Would this be of any help to you?

The Common Room / A word of warning!!

Be very careful when giving access to your tree. I was contacted by someone on another FH site (paid for I might add) asking about a name in my tree. As it turned out we did have a connection so I gave him access to my tree. Being busy at the time, I didn't check his tree very closely - that was my BIG mistake!! When time permitted, I checked his tree more closely and discovered that there was a very, very remote connection so contacted him and told him that I was withdrawing my access. He wasn't pleased but accepted. Have just done a google search for one of my brick wall ancestors and what did I find?
Oodles of info from my tree published on his public viewing site!!
To say that I'm annoyed would be an understatement because I did not give him permission to use this information and neither did he ask for it. One thing that I can smile about is that I've since found out that some of the information was wrong and he's copied it to his tree.
Even though I've read warnings of this kind before I fell into the trap so, if you're new to FH and put your tree onto any site - whether paid for or not - be very careful to whom you give access. I'm going to contact this bloke and ask him, politely, to remove my information. Can't do much about it if he won't but at least he will know my feelings.

Census and Resource Discussion / Re: G...R.. Positive

 ;D ;D
I just had to put my two cents worth in here as well.  JB and I are the best of mates and I've experienced all this with her.  I won't be waiting at the airport (after all friendship only goes so far  ::) ::)) but will be here at home with the kettle on, ready to join in - after a suitable period of course (see above about friendship).
Maybe her luck will rub off and I'll find/get to know some of my elusive mob.
Good luck and God bless, mate.
Speak soon.

Armagh / Re: Still trying to find James Kelly/Mary Brown
« on: Monday 06 October 08 23:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi Chris
Thank you so much for replying.  Am away from home at present so therefore can't confirm if I have all the details you recommended.  Do believe they were Protestants as they were C of E in Oz and I think St Marks, Portadown was mentioned by another family researcher in regard to the off spring of this couple.  Will look up my notes in the next week or so and either confirm or correct what I've just told you.
Thank you so  much again for your help.
