Armed Forces / Re: What military uniform? Help, please
« on: Saturday 14 October 23 08:17 BST (UK)  »
The cloth flash on the upper left arm looks a little like the RAF eagle. Look on any non-commissioned persons RAF uniform and you'll see the RAF eagle on the top of both sleeves. Don't know if Aus and NZ air forces have something similar.

You may be getting Greek adverts that's all as I'm in Cyprus and the adverts were aimed at me when I did the link. Wait for the Skip the Ads to be flagged up on almost at the bottom of the right hand side. It only takes a short time to come up, by hitting that you override the commercials and go to the episode.

The episode is called - Not a Blot on the Landscape.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Can a DNA test help prove a link?
« on: Friday 31 March 23 20:39 BST (UK)  »
I had a DNA connection with a man who was a direct descendent of Richard, baptised 1702, brother of my 5th great grandmother Anne, baptised 1704. We therefore meet at our 6th gt grandparents born in the 1600s, We shared 17 cMs and are 7th cousins.

You could be 3rd cousins with the lady that's much nearer than my 7th cousin.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA match anomaly
« on: Saturday 07 January 23 14:16 GMT (UK)  »
I have had this with with a man and his father. They are 3rd cousin and 3rd cousin once removed.

The son has more DNA shared with me than his father. One section of son's DNA matches with mine but his father's doesn't on that chromosome. We discussed this and we can't find the link to his mother.

Since we tried to find the link we have had 4 people match with the son and myself on the DNA section where I meet the son and the 4 people do not match with the father. Unfortunately his mother has died so no DNA from her and I haven't been able to find where my family link is to the 4 people.
