I have had this with with a man and his father. They are 3rd cousin and 3rd cousin once removed.

The son has more DNA shared with me than his father. One section of son's DNA matches with mine but his father's doesn't on that chromosome. We discussed this and we can't find the link to his mother.

Since we tried to find the link we have had 4 people match with the son and myself on the DNA section where I meet the son and the 4 people do not match with the father. Unfortunately his mother has died so no DNA from her and I haven't been able to find where my family link is to the 4 people.

As someone born in what is now called the West Midlands I have many relatives who moved to the area because of the Industrial Revolution.

The West Midlands has many canals and people were carried on the canals with similar stages as coach travel. Some boats took goods as well as people, others just transported people. One firm that had people only boats is still well known today - Pickfords.

One of my 3rd gt aunts was widowed just after the birth of her son in 1841. In 1844 and 1846 she produced a son and daughter under her husband's name. She married 4 yrs after the birth of her second son and had more children. There was never any attempt to alter the name of the illegitimate children so they always had the dead 1st husband's name.

I hope a descendant of the illegitimate children will have their DNA analysed to find the father or at least the family of the father.

I also have one with decline without a doctor certifying death. Her husband died of TB so I think that's what caused her death.

I have a mother dying of TB and her 2 youngest children also died of it, one just before the mother and the other several months after. The woman's husband died 2 years later of TB. In 1921 my paternal grandparents had one of the two surviving children living with them and my grandma's sister was looking after the other one. The father was my grandma's youngest brother.

TB was rife so I wouldn't be surprised if it was TB that caused the death of your lady and her child.

They were very likely evacuated. Evacuated children went to safety before the 1939 register was taken.

Look elsewhere for him as you may find him at his evacuation address which of course might give you the reason for the northern education.

It's already been updated on Ancestry for this year according the their announcement, about March/April I think.  My mother's birthday was early January so she was missed off 2021 and 2022 updates.

I am not the only one who has people still redacted over 100 yrs old after Ancestry's updates. On FindMyPast the DOB is very clear so there shouldn't be any confusion.

My mother would have been 101 now.

Shortly after what would have been her 100th birthday FindMyPast made her visible.

On Ancestry she is still redacted. ::)
