Ohh, didn't know that about where marriages usually took place, ie bride's parish.  Thank you very much.  Probably why I came up blank looking through the Charleville Parish records.  Many thanks.  I've already looked at the NLI records for Charleville and nothing apart from what I posted was located.
Thanks so very much
Kind regards

Hi

Greetings from NSW Australia

I am researching Thomas HEAD b. circa 1770 who married Ann PAGE on 31.12.1794 at Ore, Sussex (both parents unknown).

One of their children Richard HEAD christened 27.3.1807 at Ore Sussex, married a Jane WYBORN, christened Eastbourne on 28-7-1811, on 8-7-1830 at Ore.  Jane Wyborn was the daughter of John Wyborn & Jane Avery.

Richard, Jane and their children emigrated to Australia aboard the "Neptune" arriving 27.9.1839. Henry, one of their children, married Ellen CHITTENDEN in 1870 at Maitland, NSW - my x great grandparents.

Further back the only other information I have is:
* John Wyborn, was Christened; St.Clements Hasting 19-11-1784. He married Jane Avery, in Eastbourne 1-6-1809 [Witnesses to the marriage: William Berrell & Thomas Hart]

*Jane Avery, daughter of William Avery & Lucy Weymark, Christened: 1 -2-1789 Eastbourne.
*William Avery & Lucy Weymark married Westham 19-11-1776.

Is anyone researching these families or able to provide me direction on how I can get the HEAD line further back.  It has been a brickwall for me for in excess of 20 years now.

The HEAD tree is very confusing, there are so many Heads located in various parts of Sussex during the years and the Christian names seem repeated generation after generation.

A lister years ago said he thought the HEAD line could be traced back to Fairlight around the 1700's but I have never been able to prove this.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Cherylanne

Hi

I'm a newbie to this list so hello to everyone from NSW, Australia.
Is anyone researching this family?  Many hours spent trolling ANCESTRY and FIND MY PAST have revealed there were many many FINUCANES in Co Cork in the neighbouring Parishes of Donaghmore, Youghal, Mallow, Kanturk, Cobh and Lisgoold and Macroon during this time.

My Ann FINUCANE emigrated to Australia, it appears alone, and never returned to her homeland.  Her death certificate states her father James FINUCANE was a contractor and mother was Ellen KEEFE.

I have finally located Ann and her siblings baptisms in Charleville Parish - below - but have been unable to locate James and Ellen's marriage or any other information on the family pre 1829 and post 1835 when the baptisms took place in the Parish.
Ann Finukane, my 2x Great Grandmother, baptized Roman Catholic on 12 Feb 1829, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finukane, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Michael Finukane and Margaret Keefe

John Finuken, baptized Roman Catholic on 24 Jun 1830, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finuken, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Timothy Ryan and Ellen Fitzgerald

Bridget Finukane, baptized Roman Catholic on 25 Oct 1831, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finukane, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Christopher Power and Ann (no last name listed)

Mary Finukane, baptized Roman Catholic on 18 Nov 1832, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finukane, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Michael Finukane and Elizabeth O'Donnell

Michael Finukane, baptized Roman Catholic on 26 Jan 1834, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finukane, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Thomas Pollard and Bridget Connors

Michael Finukane, baptized Roman Catholic on 19 Feb 1835, Charleville Parish, Co. Cork.
Father:  James Finukane, Mother:  Ellen Keefe
Sponsors:  Philip Ahern and Margaret Fahy.

Is anyone researching this family or able to provide guidance on where I might next look?  I thought perhaps the sponsor Michael Finucane was a brother of James and the Margaret Keefe sponsor was a sister to Ellen but have got nowhere so far with this line of thinking.

Kind regards
Cherylanne
