Hi Ian:  Long time!  Just wanted to again say THANKS for all the help you gave me a few years back.  I have been able to help others including some cousins I connected with who still live in Sweden.  Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.  Paul

Awesome!  Thanks for the confirmation.

I have gotten a lot better.  I also see what other people have posted on ancestry or geni, but I always want to find the actual proof/record as they often have no records attached (and sometimes they are wrong or they are guessing).

Thanks again,

Paul

Hi Ian:  This should be the marriage record of the parents of Anders.  I believe the marriage date is 7 Feb 1664 in Tranemo.  The man should be Hans Andersson and the wife Martha (or Marta) Hansdotter.  It looks like Backagarden in Berg. Can you confirm this?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Ian:

Thanks for the help!

I realize now I had a mistake on my tree, and this is the first step to fix it.

I’m sure I will be in touch again soon.

Paul

Or it could be Anders with father Hans.  I’m not sure.

Hi Ian:

I hope all is well.  I have a baptism record from January 1665, Tranemo.  The name is supposed to be Hans, baptized on 29 Jan 1665.  Can you confirm this?  Does it say the father’s or mother’s names?  Any other info?

Thanks!

Paul

Thanks!  I found that earlier passenger list record too, but I dismissed it because his moving out date was so much later in the year in November.  But it has to be him.  The name matches perfectly and the age is right.

I thought I had him using the name Axel Anderson in Connecticut living near his siblings.  But he is not the correct guy.  He may have moved to another state.

I searched later records in Sweden in case he moved back, but I don’t see him anywhere (based on his birth date).

Thanks again,

Paul

Hi Ian:  I think I figured out Axel's military connection.  Was he in the livgrenadjärregementet?  I researched a bit about the Life Grenadier Regiment in Östergötland.

Hi Ian:  I just confirmed that I had the wrong Axel Anderson in my tree.  Ugh!!  At least now I know. I had an Axel Anderson who was born in 1866 and moved to Connecticut near my other Anderson relatives.  But he is the wrong person.  He died in 1945 in Naugatuck, CT.

The correct person is Axel Teodor Andersson Ostrom who left Odeshog parish for America on 17 Nov 1888.  He was born 3 Jan 1865 in Veta, Ostergotland.  I searched the passenger list book from Malmo/Gothenburg in late November 1888 through February 1889.  I didn’t see any Axel T. Ostrom or similar.

Would he have a military record?

I found one record on ancestry.com that says he may have gone to Copenhagen and then New York.

Is there anything in the written comments in the records above that could help?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Paul
