Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Tydd St. Giles Parish records
« on: Saturday 14 November 09 21:29 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks David
You are correct and have a wonderful memory, Valda did give me further information but as she stated the family in the 1941 census could be a red herring and I have not been able to verify same. I would really like to be able to go back. ie who Thomas's parents were and Elizabeths parents. It has become very frustrating over the last 2 1/2 years. This is my fathers side of my family and I am unable to get any further back whilst on my mothers side I have been able to get back to the 1700's. Maybe I should go onto " who do you think you are"
                                        Thanks again Kath.

Has anyone else a person by the same name who died 28th May 1851 in London he was aged 25 and in the 1851 census it show him to be with a Susan Hollingsworth and a visitor. It does not give a place of birth

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Hollingsworth
« on: Friday 28 November 08 06:04 GMT (UK)  »
Would anyone be able to throw light on Henry Robert Hollingsworths death or burial.
The only details I have on him are from the 1841 ( age 20 ? ) census HO 107/634/4/10 and his marriage to Sarah Buxton believe he was born in Whitgift Yorkshire and lived in Gainsboro, Lincolnshire.
He died before 1851 and was less than 30 years of age.
I have purchased a death certificate and it is the wrong one ( age 4 )
If someone can find his burial for me it might help also reason for death.
                                    Thanks Kath.

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Shaws of East Retford 1821 to 1831
« on: Monday 17 November 08 18:47 GMT (UK)  »
I know there are loads of them but can anyone locate the parents of
William Shaw born approx 1821, and his sister Elizabeth born approx 1829 as in the 1851 census shows William as 30 and Elizabeth 22. There may also be another sister shown in the 1901 census as Jane Wright ( nee Shaw ) age 80.
I know William's father was also William ( Joiner ) from the marriage certificate of William and Eliza Robinson on 5th August 1860.
                                    Thanks Kath.

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: william shaw (mother)
« on: Monday 17 November 08 18:36 GMT (UK)  »
To help matters or hinder William Shaw age 30 in 1851 was married to Ann Coghill age 26 with a son William aged 2, his sister Elizabeth was with them on the census. She was 22 years old. Ann Coghill died and William married Eliza Robinson on their marriage certificate it states Williams father as William  ( Joiner ) Aug 5th 1860. Also believe ( no surmise ) William may have had a sister Jane as a Jane Wright ( nee Shaw ) had a visitor in 1901 census Lucy Ann Shaw age 30.
Need to find William ( the joiners ) Wife if possible has anyone any ideas how to do this from the above info. All started out in East Retford and William junior moved to Legbourne in Lincolnshire.
