That is amazing.
My younger sister remembers Sean - my dads half brother she thought .  I was born in 1953 so your father must be my cousin!! I know so little of dads life in Dundalk - I suppose I wasn't that interested when I was younger.  I don't even know all his siblings although I do have a recollection of Mona.
I would love to send you a photo I have of a wedding group to see if you know anybody!!
I do remember going to Ireland to see grandmother Elizabeth when she was quite old - it sounds as though she had an interesting life.
It would be great if you could help me fill in the gaps
Brenda

Their marriage was 1878 - Owen was 28 mariner  and Margaret 22. Her father was Patrick and he was a labourer.
The Owen Kirk you found is about the right age

Many thanks for your help

That's fantastic - looks like he died on my birthday!
I have my grandmas death certificate thanks.
I don't suppose you could find any info on my great grandfather Owen Kirk? I have some info - marriage in Liverpool to Mgt Finnigan. Also he was a sailor so I thought there might be records but can't find anything!!
Or should I put this as a new post?
Many thanks

I'm trying to trace my late fathers family in Dundalk. My father was Ernest Martin - mother Elizabeth's second marriage was to John Whearty was 1921 and they lived in Barrack Street. There were a few children - anyone any information gratefully received.
