Possible family of Thomas Mercer in 1851 living at St Martins Liverpool

Thomas Mercer 45 Vitualler b Ainstree?? Lancs
Elizabeth Mercer 41 b Liverpool
Elizabeth Mercer 19
Ellen Mercer 17
Thomas Mercer    13 b Manchester
Henry Mercer 4

Just found the above living at 40 Horatio Street, Liverpool. The age and place of birth of Elizabeth (mother), matches with the Elizabeth living with a Granddaughter called Jane. So it must be them.
I google searched and it seems the dad worked as a victualler, "a person who supplies food, beverages and other provisions for the crew of a vessel at sea."

Thank you! I've found the following for Henry Mercer:

Someone has Elizabeth Carney on her tree and she has purchased her marriage and death records. It says she lived in Seacombe when she got married, and she passed on 1875 of typhus at the Walton Workhouse. She's buried at Walton Cemetery.

Thank you! I wish even more now I could find the marriage records for Thomas and Martha, to see if he was a widower. But it seems more and more likely that they never got married?

Just found Thomas (son) on the 1881 Census.

He was living at 7 Cromwell Terrace with his Auntie Elizabeth (Price) and husband William Porter again. There's a Jane Mercer, niece, aged 17, b. C. 1864, living with them too. I have no idea who's her, and looking at the GRO, b. 1864 +/- 2 years, there are two:

   MERCER, JANE  DAWSON     (DAWSON)
GRO Reference: 1864  S Quarter in WEST DERBY AND TOXTETH PARK  Volume 08B  Page 297

MERCER, JANE  VICTORIA PRITCHARD FOX   (CARNEY)

Forgot to add that Elizabeth was born in late 1887, and her birth was register in 1888:
MERCER, ELIZABETH       PRICE
GRO Reference: 1888  M Quarter in LIVERPOOL Volume 08B  Page 146
Her DOD is 6 May 1965, aged 77. Buried at Yew Tree.

There's also a previous Elizabeth registered in Toxteth. I guess it could be a sister that passed away shortly. Or there was another Mercer married to a Price:
MERCER, ADA  ISABEL     PRICE
GRO Reference: 1886  D Quarter in TOXTETH PARK  Volume 08B  Page 148

Could you please confirm whether this is them

Is this them in 1881 but Thomas born c1834 not 1843

RG11/3630 f84 p25 Liverpool
Thomas Mercer age 47 bn Manchester
Martha 35 bn Liverpool
John 2 bn Liverpool
William 3 months bn Liverpool

Birth registrations
MERCER, JOHN       mmn PRICE
1879  June Quarter in LIVERPOOL  Volume 08B  Page 170

MERCER, WILLIAM       mmn PRICE
1881  Mar Quarter in LIVERPOOL  Volume 08B  Page 177

I think so, living at 79 Gerard Street, Liverpool, in 1881. But now I'm doubting myself. Looking at the records that I'm 100% positive it's them...

I'm looking at Thomas Mercer (son). I haven't found him on the 1881 Census yet, but on the 1891 Census he lives with his auntie, Elizabeth (Price), and husband, William Porter.

There was a daughter called Elizabeth Berel Mercer (Berel is transcribed as Baech here).  She married in 1918 to George McEwan. On 1939 I'm 100% positive it's her, and she gave her DOB as 29.11.1889.

I think this is her baptism record. Although it says she was born on the 28th Nov 1887. Parents: Thomas and Martha. He worked as Cotton Porter.

Just about to add the 1881 with different birth year to that stated, he is born 1843 in 1891, I think.
However, 1891 claims born Liverpool, not Manchester.

Still married to a different wife, so could not marry Martha?

Oh, no! So I got the tree wrong and he married to a different woman? Is it okay if I post a link to my tree and it as it be easier?

Thank you!

Did they die before 1911 - or have you found them in 1911 and how many years of marriage do they claim?

Hello!

He passed away in 1904 and she passed away in 1895. By 1901 at least three of their children were on the Censuses living in industrial schools, except William Mercer, b. 1880, that he married to Ann Maria Kelly (I think), according an annotation on his baptism record.

Thank you!

Hello!

I'm searching for a marriage between Thomas Mercer, b. C. 1843, and Martha Price, b. in 1846. She belonged to the Wesleyan Methodist Church, but I have no idea about his family.

Their first child was born in 1875 in Liverpool. Martha Price lived with her parents on the 1861 Census, but haven't located her on the 1871 Census. Therefore she could have been already married to Thomas.

He worked as Cotton Porter.

So far I've tried on Ancestry and Family Search, using different spellings, and no luck.

Thank you!
