Thanks CD!

So the mystery is why 16 & 19 Medlock Street aren’t in the online census…

You lot are FAB!

Hi Jon and thanks for this.

Tom’s father died in 1918 so I don’t think there were any voters in the household in 1921.

Will check,

PS - I should have added that Tom’s father & brother Fred both had died before the 1921 census.

Hi Boo and thanks for responding.

My grandad Tom WHITELEY, his siblings, father, mother and maternal gran are shown in 1911 at 94 Spencer Street Oldham. In the 1921 census, some others live there.

I've searched the whole of the UK for them and cannot find any of them.

Edith WHITELEY remarried in Dec 1921 and was living at 16 Medlock Street per the marriage certificate.

I've compared the hand-written returns for 1911 with 1921 and there isn't a form for No 16 nor No 19 Medlock Street. I suspect the family were living at No 16 :)

Let me know what you find,
Regards
Martin

Hi there

I couldn't find my grandfather, his siblings, mother and gran in the 1921 census. His mother remarried in Dec 1921 so have her address at that time and looked for this street - there are two households on that street in the 1911 census that don't have returns in 1921.

The family were mill workers and cleaners so don't expect they were abroad at the time.

Any explanation?!

Cheers

Lancashire / Oldham Council - Burial Records

Hi there - quick question:

Does Oldham Council have burial records online these days? They were working on it a few years ago I believe.

If so, anybody got the link to their website?
