Thanks Snowybeatle, any info is always useful and interesting, however late - mind you I did have to reread the thread!

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Recommendation on DNA testing
« on: Friday 18 February 22 16:34 GMT (UK)  »
Wondering if anyone has used a company called CRI Genetics?  I have used Ancestry DNA for my tree, however my son is interested in taking a DNA test to be able to look at both paternal and maternal side.  He's interested in the history side of things as well as family tree, which is pretty much established on both sides.  I googled and found this CRI which also includes traits and health as well as history but am seeing mixed reviews for the company.

I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has other views on sites they've used.
TIA

John Tulip in 1871 Steubenville city directory - http://www.digitalshoebox.org/digital/collection/books/id/34709/rec/21

What a find! It led me to find his brother in law also near the dump! I’m aiming on a bit of me time looking through digital shoebox. Thank you!

Have the marriage of John Tulip and Elizabeth Laverick Sept Qtr 1861 Houghton, Co. Durham.

Have the birth of John George Tulip Dec Qtr 1862 MMN Laverick, Houghton, Co Durham. Have had a look at the USA arrival on An..ty and the date of arrival was 16 May 1864 so John George would have been about 18 months old at that time.

Can't find any further births for a Tulip (male or female) with MMN Laverick (from GRO index).

There is a birth for a John George Tulip in 1865 but that is with a MMN Surtees,

Thank you.

Thanks Stanwix

Rather reluctant to re-enter as there are so many people involved.  Guess at the end of the day I know the relationship.  It's rather annoying really because it's only the second wife and her son who are wrong, somehow it is correct for his daughter.

Yes I am.

My 11th great grandparents were the ones descended from the two wives.
