Could somebody please help with a translation? The following is a baptism announcement from a 1916 newspaper. I have tried various online translators and dictionaries but although I can get the gist of it I am struggling with the word dad-bedydd or it could be dad-hedydd It's hard to tell and depending on what translator I use I get either Grandfather or father in law.
Bedydd: Nos Sul diweddaf, bedyddiwyd baban Mr. a Mrs. John Pritohard, Golan, yn yr Eglwvs gan v Parch. D. Collwyn Morgan. Gwasanaethwyd gan Mr. W. Roberts Talafon; Mrs. Williams, Lodge; Mrs. Thomas, Golan. Hyfryd ydoedd gweled yr hynafgwr a'r
Eglwyswr ffyddlon Mr. William Roberts yn dad-hedydd ac efe dros ei bedwar ugain.
Google translator gives
Baptism: Last Sunday, baby baptized Mr. a Mrs. John Pritohard, Golan, in the Churches by v Rev. D. Collwyn Morgan. Served by Mr. W. Roberts Talafon; Mrs. Williams, Lodge; Mrs. Thomas, Golan. It was wonderful to see the eldest and
Loyal church William Roberts is a grandfather and he is over forty four.
I appreciate the age is over 80 not forty four. I am trying to see if the Pritchards are related to William Roberts.
Thanks in advance,
Peter.
