« on: Tuesday 18 February 25 23:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Waughhunter
I'm no expert, but from the 1871 census (FreeCEN) i have found:
Danning, John. Head, Married, M, 30, Ag lab, Birthplace: North Petherwin
Danning, Mary. Wife, Married, F, 24,              Birthplace: Lawhitton, Cornwall.
Piece 2225, Enum district 4, folio 81, P15, Schedule 76.

Baptism from the Parish register (FreeREG):
24th Sept 1871  Thomas Danning. Place: Lawhitton  Church: Saint Michael
Father: John. Occupation: Labourer  Mother: Mary  Abode: Luccombe
Register entry No.664

Baptism from Cornwall OPC:
5th Feb 1902  James Danning.  Parish circuit: Liskeard
Father: Thomas  Occupation: Soldier   Mother: Emelene
Piece 2225, Enum district 4, Folio 81, P15, Schedule 76.

Marriage from Cornwall OPC:
Groom: John Dunning  Bride: Mary Heard  at Launceston Bible Christian Chapel 31st March 1869.

Seems to be a lot of Thomas Danning's from North Petherwin!

I hope this is of some use.  :)

I visited Saint Cleer today and found the tomb of Joseph / John Pomery, but it was illegible due to 236 years of weathering. The only words i could make out was:
Mary Pomery their pious daughter who departed this life on the 7th day of September 1700/1800
aged 4... years.
Saint Neots to follow.

Gillg,
You've just jogged the memory of another former Rochdalian. I was reading earlier of the designer of Rochdale cemetery in 1855, a man called Abraham Stansfield, assisted by 2 geologists, James Horsfall of Healey nursery and Robert Law of Todmorden. - second paragraph of Historic Development:

Hello again Goldie
Just an observation from the Historic England website regarding Saint Neots, (don't know if you've already seen it) at the end of the church details the following are mentioned as memorials in the church:
Richard Pomery 1744.
William Dangar 1831.
William Dangar 1868.

Tomb in the churchyard:
William Dangar 1789.

More ancestors maybe?

Hello Goldie. As it happens i was looking round this very churchyard just yesterday, unfortunately i've only seen this post today (28th)  :(  However, i could take a photo of the tomb, i don't live too far away. Maybe this weekend as the weather is looking nice.

Had another look at East Stonehouse schools. I believe there's 4:

Saint George's Boys National school. George Place.
East Stonehouse National school. Market street / Quarry street. (Re-developed)
Admiralty girls school. Caroline place. (Adjoining the barracks)
The Long Room. RM barracks.

I have photos but dont know how to attach them.  ???
