Hi ChrisD1944

It's not too late as I still have the car. I would be very grateful if you could pass the word along, I'd dearly love to copy any photos or documents. Equally, I'd like to know any family stories relating to the car.

Thanks

Alan

Thanks, hadn't spotted that.   ;D ;D  1804, Ann Walwyn as mother, no father mentioned.

We found them in one census (1861) after they moved to Co Durham, which showed her as older, c1799, but she came from the same area so very possible.

Hi

Does anyone have access to Parish Records for Bacton to see if there are any details like parents names recorded?

Durham Lookup Requests / The Jarrow Marches
« on: Monday 23 April 12 20:02 BST (UK)  »
Family story...

"John William Pugh (My Wife's Grandad - known as Jack) born 1904 came down to London on the Jarrow March, married Elsie Reddecliffe, and stayed."

We're trying to discover if that's all completely true.

Fact: John Pugh worked at one of the shipyards that closed - we have his apprenticeship documents - but the marriage is in Jul-Sep 1935. The Jarrow march was in October 1936, but apparently there were many previous marches. Now it's entirely possible he was on one of the earlier marches organised by the communist party, but are there any lists of names? He isn't on the list of 200 names of "the" march.

Anyone out there who can help with possible sources?

Very interesting, a real possibility. My son is at Bath Uni, I may be asking him to visit a couple of places! Of course the records are probably in the Somerset FH centre in Taunton. I'll check.

Thanks again.

That helps enormously  ;D  - it gives me a place to work from when I next get access to the census details. Thank you so much.

Really!!!!

This marriage then?

Marriages Dec 1855
BENHAM  John  St Geo S.  1d 161
EVESON  Eliza  St Geo Southk  1d 161

I looked on FreeBMD to get that, but do you have somewhere you can look at a more detailed transcript of the marriages?

How did you make the connection?

This is my last major mystery

1851  at 17 Broadwall Christchurch, London.
HO 107 1557 17? (not sure of the last digit)

Joseph Eveson 26 Greengrocer London, Smithfield
Eliza E(lizabeth) Eveson 27 At Home Somerset, Bath
Joseph Eveson 1 Surrey Christchurch
Susan Beale Wife's mother 65 formerly laundress Bath

I got the marriage certificate, Eliza Elizabeth Beale's dad was John Beale, a Mason.

John Beale (mason)
Susan Beale (laundress) born c. 1786
Eliza Elizabeth Beale born c 1824

I never found them in 1841

Help!? Another pair of eyes might spot them? Indexes improved in the last 5 years (when I last looked).
