I copied your post to Rachel, a member of both the Rugby Family History Group and of the Rugby Local History Research Group.  She circulated it more widely and David provided the attached photo of the Police Station on the corner of Craven Road and Railway Terrace. He commented: "It was in use until 1973. Courts above. I remember our youth group visiting there about 1966 ish & touring the place. Cells were in the basement (not sure how many)."
With best wishes,
Tim

Very many thanks Hepburn.  I am aware of both these resources.  I was visiting BP with MJPW when she completed the form with the details of her service, and I was her executor.  Whilst she was eventually persuaded to tell me about BP, which led to my taking her on a visit, she would show no reaction whatever when I asked her about France.  She also showed no reaction when I told her about her former colleague, who as chance would have it, became a colleague of mine in 1970. I think it is significant that he told me about the French trip when we met first, because I believe this was before the BP story was 'known'.

A totally different contact told my sister a very similar story about MJPW, except that the destination was Germany.  That version included an outline of a conversation with a German officer which seemed to show that he took her for a German.  It is sad that both sources are now dead.

Very many thanks for reading my original post and replying to it.

Margaret Janet Peace Weedon was born Tiverton 18 Oct 1918. She joined Bletchley Park in Nov 1942.  A colleague of hers, there, told me that she had gone on at least one trip to France to gather specific information from the academic community.  I am persuaded that it is inconceivable that this was after she joined Bletchley Park, as she would be too big a security risk. So, if the story is true, she must have gone before that.  She had the advantages of being an academic, of speaking most European languages fluently and, if she chose, with the accent of one of the others, and having French and Flemish grandparents on which she could base a 'back story'.
Is any one able to advise me on how to check whether there is any truth in the story?
Very many thanks for any help you can give.
Best wishes,
Tim

There is a photo at Coventry Evening Telegraph - Saturday 25 June 1960 p 21 cols 1,2, which you can see at https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000769/19600625/255/0021 .  The police station is the building on the right with the turret on top.

Not helpful in response to your question, but an Arthur Benjamin Voss was in Rugby Warwickshire on 8th Nov 1886.  Is he 'one of your's?'
With best wishes,
Tim
